This to all those delusion Indian, Pakistani and Sri Lankan fans who seem to think Graeme Swann is mediocre and over rated. Mat Inns Wkts Ave Econ 4w 5w 10 Tests 36 153 28.82 2.97 8 11 1 In about 2 years hes got 153 wickets at strike rate of 28.82 which is excellent for spinner(keep in mind Harbhajan average 32 and yes i know hes played more than Swann). Before you say he only does well in England id like to remind you that he was the highest wicket taker v Saffers where he took 21 wickets. This also disproves the other argument that he doesnt do well in unhelpful conditions. Anyone who disagrees discuss below on why?:two_thumbs_up:

Apparently performing well against India is the only criteria to be considered a good spinner, therefore Shane Warne is a poor spin bowler.

Graeme Swann insists he can get much better

GRAEME SWANN might be the king of spin and his team might be the best in the world but he is still waiting for his moment in the sun. Swanny, who has been such a Ž*pivotal figure in EnglandÃÔ renaissance under Andrew Strauss, can never be accused of resting on his laurels. Despite the whitewashing of India and his own elevation to global Ž*powerhouse, he insisted: ŪÃ×e hardly had to do anything this summer. Advertisement >> Ūf you take The Oval game out of it, IÃ×e had my easiest summer ever. IÃ×e just stood at second slip watching Jimmy Anderson, Chris Tremlett and Stuart Broad take all the wickets. This is not just false modesty. Up until the final Test against India he had had a quiet series, with four wickets in three matches. It didnÃÕ matter, of course. The conditions suited the faster bowlers, who all bowled superbly. In past tours of the subcontinent, England have lacked an attacking spinner and Swann knows he will be a handful for any batting line-up in the tough series coming up over the next 18 months. He said: Ū know IÃÍl be looked upon as the main weapon in the subcontinent and be expected to take the wickets. I know IÃ×e got a lot of hard work to do in Abu Dhabi against Pakistan and then in Sri Lanka and India. Ūn Sri Lanka a spinner has to do all the donkey work. Seamers just canÃÕ do it. After four or five overs they are cooked. ItÃÔ the heat. Sri Lanka is the hardest place to get wickets, but I know I can bowl well there. ŪtÃÍl be a litmus test for the team. ItÃÔ been a Ž*phenomenal two years for England. Ū have to pinch myself sometimes. Å©owever, if we want to be as dominant as the West Indies team of the 1970s and 80s, and the Aussies from the mid-90s, then we have to do well in the Ž*sub-continent.

Relax, he's the best spinner currently playing international cricket, end of story. He's not as good as Warne/Murali and that's the same thing as saying India wasn't as good as the WI/OZ all time great teams while we were #1. Fair enough ?

No he is not. Stats dont tell the truth either. Let me give an example: (1)90% of your posts are pure BS. (2)You do lot of writing besides these posts. (3) Technically You can claim that most of the things you write about are correct. However the above statement is true but it still hides the fact that what you write about cricket is BS. I hope this explains the stats happy crap abt Swann. Is he good, Yes! Is he the best, not even close.

:hysterical: You sir are a confused and dillusional fan and to Seranis point who is the best if Swann is only "good"? you seem to avoid answering and keep saying he isnt the best then tell me someone better and btw people dont care about the "whole truth" as you put it. at the end of the day the only thing that matters is the players stats. this is what players are remembered by.

:nono: Some players are remembered also for their batting, bowling and sometimes even fielding. jonty%20rhodes%203.jpg Stats have failed to make Sangakara greater than Richards.

no im not talking about who is greater but in general most players are remembered for their stats except for a few exceptions like you mentioned Richards but you have to remember he scored 15,000 in 1 day cricket overall which automatically makes him greater than sangakara

Harbhajan at present is the best spinner. Do you get it? If not I will say it slowly: Harbhajan aaaattttttttttt preeeeeeesssseeenttttttttt isssssssssss theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee beeessssstttttttt sppppppiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnneeerrrrrrrr. Get it. As far as stat *****s like you, I have a question, ten years from now when people will talk about spinners will they talk abt this flash in the pan Swann or a member of 400 wkt club Harbhajan? Now you get it.

Swann will get his fair share of wickets by that time.... currently Swann> Bhajji... he just looks more threatening.. Bhajji has looked useless for a while now....

He definitely does not look useless. People have unreal expectations.
What has been your real expectations in last couple of years, say last 2 years, from a senior member of the team?

Apparently performing well against India is the only criteria to be considered a good spinner' date=' therefore Shane Warne is a poor spin bowler.[/quote'] Because indians and srilankans are great players of spin, swann was ineffective against srilanka and average against india.people saying look what he did against sa,knock knock bhajji in bad form had a field day against them.currently we have some pretty average spinners in the game ,people say bhajji throws darts ,swann also darts and that's why on good pitches he is not effective,on turners he is good but on turners even shaun udal destroyed india.
