DomainK Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 RIP hope azhars son recovers soon. he was also a upcoming cricketer as well and regarding helmets, i would have died on 30 dec 2010 if i wasnt wearing a helmet when riding my bike. my face banged on the road that day & i was saved thanks to the helmet and escaped with a cricketer-esque hand injury that day I also had an accident riding a bike. I fell down with good force and by head banged on the road. The helmet took the blow and I got away with a few minor injuries. Without the helmet, I doubt I would have survived the accident. One should not only wear helmet, but one should carefully chose a good one. It can be the difference between life and death.
Rajiv Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I begged, I cried but my father never got me a bike. He gave me his car keys instead I thank him a lot, although accidents can happen anytime, youth bke ride in India with no regard to rules is sitting next to the door of death

These stories are very common place nowadays. One always knows someone who directly had a very bad biking experience or knows someone who knows someone who has had one. The importance of wearing a good helmet cannot be stressed enough. And many a times, the bikers cut so close to the carwalas/walis that it actually scares you and you break immediately. Precisely why I hate driving back from the Bandra reclamation side post 11 on a weekday. The stretch of the Highway from the Lilavati flyover till a little before the BWSL toll gate is full of crazy bikers who tryout stupid stunts and races. Dumb kids just end up killing themselves and risking lives of others. It seems even the cops have given up on them. :(( One can only feel bad for them and their families. :((

Behind him an auto came and hit his helmet pretty hard almost running over it. If he was not wearing the helmet, he might not have survived. Always Always wear a helmet

College student Ayazuddin, an upcoming cricketer, is battling for life in Apollo Hospital. A Suzuki GSX-R1000 sports bike he was riding on the outer ring road, where riding two-wheelers is banned, skidded and crashed near the tollgate at Poppalguda. Ayazuddin responded to resuscitation and was later operated on to stop the bleeding in his chest. His kidneys were also damaged. He is on ventilator support and a multi-specialty team is monitoring his progress. His condition remained critical at the time of going to press, Rahman, who was riding pillion, died while undergoing treatment. He was the son of Azharuddin’s sister and the grandson of former Rajya Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh Khaleel-ur-Rahman. Azharuddin, the Congress MP from Moradabad Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, was in London when he got the news. He was expected to reach Hyderabad around midnight. Witnesses told the police the rider was racing at a very high speed on the elevated outer ring road and lost control of the bike. Commuters on the route alerted the police and a patrol vehicle from a nearby police station arrived soon. The police team failed to get an ambulance and had to take the profusely bleeding cousins in their patrol vehicle to the hospital, losing an hour in the process. Dr Mahesh Joshi, head of emergency services at Apollo, said the two were brought in at around 9.30am with cardiac arrest. After one-and-a-half hours, Rahman could not be revived and was declared dead. He must have looked away for a second, thus this kid died? Izzat se safe riding pe utar jaa, wahi theek rahega- aur kya god favour's the brave ? Yeh stunt man banke koi bahaduri nahi karta, yeh bewakoofi ki baat hai, kahin kuchh ho gaya toh ? Isi liye toh bol raha hooon ki don't drive it fast for stating a "style quo". Kahin pe bhi drive karo, agar tez chalaogey toh accident kahin bhi ho sakta hai, khaali road pe bhi if u lose balance, control etc etc. Jitne jaldi samajh jaao utna hi badhiya hai
