Trichromatic
If MSD would have played the same amount of duration' date=' we would have seen a flurry of boundaries in the last few overs,, and he himself would have had scored 130 or so.[/quote'] You can't compare MSD with no 3 batsman whose main role is to build his inning. He is not a natural stroke player. England wants too much from him. It's better to find some big hitters for last 10 overs than blaming Trott. He plays good enough during middle overs. Clarke
Gifted batsmen like Laxman have struggled with odis as well when it comes to flat tracks. Its not everyone's cup of tea to score at 100+ SR every single game on these wickets. This is where Dravid has to commended, he has been the ultimate student of the game. RD's always willing to adapt to the requirements and put in the effort to suit the format. He seemed slow as well when he began but soon after was able to keep wickets, rotate the strike regularly & hit lofted boundaries. What a champion :hatsoff: Trott has the talent, some more effort and he can do it as well. What's with the comparison to Bopara :hysterical: Link to comment
Sachinism
If England can groom bairstow and few others with long handle, then trott would be appreciated for this efforts and patience. He is class act and dependable. What would you want this poor guy to do??....in 2nd ODI, he went for a rash shot and bowled out to jadeja and commentators started questioning his attitude and his exact role in the team..... Agree, England need some good power hitters around him. Link to comment
ch1234
Ravi Bopara' date= an infinitely more gifted strokeplayer than Trott :hysterical: If Bopara was to play for India, he didnt even come near to Indian ODI side. Link to comment
Cric_is_Life
As an Indian fan, Trott = Yes :D Link to comment
VRV Singh
Trott shouldn't be near ODI cricket. However the theories used to excuse other batsmen when he plays one of his crawling innings are a bit tiresome. England's middle to lower order hasn't been good enough for a long time. Trott's inability to shift up the gears and pace innings' is ample reason to omit him. Link to comment
Crookbond
Best spinner in the world dropped? Scott Borthwick gets a game ahead of Swann in Mumbai. He picked up 5 wickets in the practice game against Hyderabad but is just 21 years old and very inexperienced. I believe this is a tactical error by England. Edit : Not to add, the most attractive stroke maker Ian Bell doesn't get in a game! Link to comment
Trichromatic
Not to add, the most attractive stroke maker Ian Bell doesn't get in a game! Most attractive stroke maker always gives it away after making super attractive 20s and 30s. Link to comment
Texy
Swann dropped...unbelievable Link to comment
Pagalpanti
I think they are rotating. Series is gone for them anyway, so might as well try out the fringe players. Link to comment
Crookbond
Swann didn't have much impact anyway. If rotating, why not Bell? Link to comment
Pagalpanti
^True but still based on few games he cant be dropped and about Bell, well its baffling to see he didn't get to play today as well. Link to comment
Sid
Swann being no 1 ODI bowler is a joke in itself. He is the best spinner in tests not in ODIs.I rate Ajmal ahead of him in limited overs cricket. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Yep its shocking how bhaji was axed! Link to comment

Trichromatic
^True but still based on few games he cant be dropped and about Bell' date=' well its baffling to see he didn't get to play today as well.[/quote'] Bell is a crap ODI player. He hasn't done anything in ODIs since his return. Not many players get 25-30 innings to prove themselves. If he couldn't take advantage of so many chance, then it's his fault. He doesn't deserve more chances at least now. It would be unfair to other players if they select him in this format. Link to comment

I umderstand your point but even considering it Bell could prove a better option in India. Link to comment

As i said earlier, this seems to be a tactical error eapecially at the Wankhede. Link to comment
