Varun is Untested and Ishant, does not bowl full steam all the time. Yes Finn is written based on yesterday's performance, but ever since he played against Bangladesh, Australia, Sri Lanka, he has been bowling an average speed of above 138-140kmph. With the height he has 6,7'', its a very very very lethal combination.

What to the folks think here ??? I like your analysis but comparing finn to Morkel is a bit too far-fetched. Morkel is a top class bowler and he gets some disconcerting bounce and is a proven performer in India as well. Finn has done well so far but let him be tested against quality batting line ups. Australia's batting order was pretty jaded in the Ashes.

When classifying a bowler's pace we should take the quickest ball and the average speed range that you are most likely to see in most matches of a series. Munaf bowled a 143 kph delivery yesterday. Would it be fair to classify his fastest speed as 143 kph generally ( as far as this season is concerned ) ? Similarly it would be unfair to say that Aaron is a 153 kph bowler. His general speed range that I have seen in domestic 50 over games is 142 to 147 kph. Height is obviously a factor but that way even Ishant and Munaf are really tall and Ishant can be genuinely quick too especially in the ODIs and T20s. While comparing speeds, we should take all these factors into account. I agree with you completely on the stamina part. Indian seamers' main problem seems to be lack of stamina, energy and the will to bowl with effort is sadly lacking apart from Ishant.

With Castro back, Roach in full flow and Taylor seeming to be raring to go, they form the fastest bowling unit there is in cricket. I would rate them as faster than SAF and Aus.

I wonder what made the batting so fragile .I simply havent been able to work it out .I remember the Aus fans were at a loss over the winter and so were the Pak fans last year etc etc etc .I just cant fathom the common denominator between fragile batting line ups and the England bowling .

Most fans from other countries follow only their team's matches. An Indian fan would be able to tell you how Ponting or Hussey did in the previous Ashes series but most English fans wouldn't know who the top scorer in the India/SA series was.
