I was speaking from the point of view of Pathan being injured currently. I would even play Abhishek Nayar over Jadeja, that's how bad Jadeja is. Everyone hasn't woken up to the mediocrity of Jadeja yet, but it's only a matter of time because this hack will keep on costing us match after match. I think this post sums up why Jadeja is in the team and always a contender as 5th bowler/bits and pieces player. Its clear we need this kind of player for the balance of the team, as yuvi/raina combination as 5th bowlrs gets brutalised at times like against pak. Look at the alternatives for this role that you give. Crapthan is awful. As a bowler he needs new ball or is even more worse, last thing we need to do is give this chump new ball. Jadeja and him are on par in terms of bowling. Crapthan is worse fielder and worse batsman. Y Pathan is not even a bowler. Pie chucker. Fileding is worse then sehwags. Batting can be explosive but if going to play a pure batsman much better options. Nayar is rubbish. 3 matches in a row bowled very well and been amazing in the field. Last game against pak also did well with bat. If you understand his role is 5th bowler who is handy with the bat, then you can see why in the team, especially for balance. If you are willing to have yuvi/raina as 5th bowler then can drop him but bowlingr becomes weaker and batting stronger. Hope someone rises to take his place but on current availabilty should be in team and is doing well

Yes crapthan is defo worse batsman and in middle overs bowling jadeja is much better. Unless you want to give crapthan new ball:((
