The team has crazy list of injuries and they need to field 11 players, it is quite simple really, if only you want to use a little common sense. They should have anticipated such scenarios and have covered these cases in advance. Instead they are having to fix these on an adhoc basis, which isn't necessarily the best way to deal with things, but not the end of the world.

A better way would be to allow them to sign up a new domestic uncapped player to replace their injured domestic players. the 4 overseas players rule is something that has been constant across every season of IPL and CL.

Signing new players on an adhoc basis can have it's own issues than letting them just use their own contracted players.
