Lurker Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 So did anyone get it yet? Not yet. Most likely I am not gonna get this until iPhone is gonna be supported by my service provider. Currently only AT&T supports iPhone and you have to get in 2 years contract with them. I did however manage to visit my local Apple store, stand in a line and finally get my hands on iPhone. First impression was it is definitely a very sleek gadget with tons of features. That comes from a guy who uses his phone for calling, texting and using it as a watch. iPhone does manage to raise the bar, specially with the ease of browsing around at the tip of finger, pun incidental.

Not only iPhone but basically a phone device that had full integration with the Tokyo infrastructure. Like, you could use it for browsing on the internet, for calls, as a camera, and to pay bus fares and subway fares etc. etc.???

My old Nokia, about 4 years old now, allowed me to surf the web and take the calls - the basic premise of iPhone. But let me tell you that there is a huge difference between the web surfing on my Nokia and iPhone. Even the new Nokia ones I have tried doesnt come close to iPhone in pure ease of use and clarity of pictures, of course the price tag is higher too.

Never owned an "i' product never will

Never owned an "i' product never will Ipod didn't become popular because it was the first (it wasn't) or the one with the most features(it isn't) but because of its simplicity to use. My friend got a samsung MP3 player a week after i got my ipod, for way less than what i paid for and with much more features. I thought,he got a better deal,till i used his player. I can find any song out of the 1000s i want in a few seconds and not more than a few clicks. The clickwheel is what sets ipod apart from others.

All OS on phones till date have been heavily truncated. iPhone uses a complete OS X and a complete web browser. Besides the gizmos that is the USP of an iPhone. If you don't care about "cool" or web browsing don't go for an iPhone.
