Saha hasn't got that much of chance,he's a very good keeper but not good enough with the bat. We've got 3 options at this moment 1)Parthiv(the front runner),2)Karthik (Best batsman between these 3),3)M Gautam(FC record is good & performed well in EP tournament).

karthik.....tested and proved unworthy....very inconsistent Parthiv......keeping and batting are test standards....good for ODI's Gautam.....I have seen him with bat...he has decent technique, not sure about his keeping...somebody seen with gloves could answer

Given the fact that PP had the experience of playing in Aus and that he is a good backfoot player, he should be the reserve keeper for the Aus series. His recent ODI form would work to his advantage as well.

Kartik is the best test batsman among the 3,even better than Dhoni . Also he is an awesome keeper. Remember his stumping of Vaughan in 2004 3rd ODI in Eng which we won.

You mean experience of being a horrible keeper? :winky:

Parthiv patel is a good bat remember him playing well against Akhtar at his peak , he just needs to convert his start to bigger score. His keeping was the sore point earlier looks like he worked on it. Not yet in reckoning Uday Kaul seems good, his brother also is a decent bowl

:hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: One stumping and he's already a better keeper? What about all those other dolly drops and missed stumpings?

You can probably get by being so-so with the gloves in most series'. I suspect Pappu's batting will give him an edge for now. But the past horrors of Dropthiv make me wonder about Saha, his keeping is apparently very tidy. Unfortunately I only recall him in the outfield for India...one of the better fielders, in fairness.
