Dhoni needs a break

I might be saying what everybody else is saying. I feel that Dhoni has culminated. You can see it in his eye. The exertion. The peak moment of his career. That final six in the World Cup Final. He looks to me, spent. He has achieved everything he wanted and just doesn't have the resources, and I'm not talking about cricketing ones, anymore. The focus, passion or even interest has waned. He needs an honest break. He can achieve much more.

+1000000000 Has anyone noticed that Dhoni has stopped celebrating no matter what happens. I remember seeing him jump around during T20WC in 07 but for the past year or so, it seems like he just doesn't care [or harsh trying to act cool]

I think there is a wider more important question as to how long Dhoni's captaincy should last. He has been captain for several years now and mentally he looks as if the job has taken its toll. His captaincy thesedays is characterised by being defensive, negative and reactive. He frankly looks out of ideas and out of steam. Problem is if you look at other options for captaincy the field is not exactly high in terms of quality or quantity. I think logically you would be looking at other candidates or at least options for the captaincy but we may well be stuck with Dhoni the Zombie for a while yet.

Completely agree with flamy, more than anything else Dhoni looks mentally tired.

Yes, we need a replacement. What I don't get is the dude doesn't give up keeping even with Saha in the team. :hmmm:
May be he is more comfortable captaining the side when he is behind the wickets :hmmm:
