Cricket Tragic Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Mohsin Khan, Pakistan's chief selector, will serve as the team's interim coach for the series against Sri Lanka beginning in October. Mohsin steps in to fill the vacancy created by Waqar Younis' departure after the tour of Zimbabwe. Ijaz Ahmed will be the team's assistant coach. The PCB committee tasked with finding the new head coach had shortlisted five names for the position out of a list of thirty-seven applicants. Twelve foreign and 25 local coaches had applied for the job. They haven't finalised on a candidate yet though in time to take over before the Test, ODI and Twenty20 matches against Sri Lanka in the UAE. Colonel Naushad Ali will take charge as associate manager for the Sri Lanka series and the tour of Bangladesh. All other team management officials were retained. The team will gather in Lahore for a pre-series camp between November 10 and 13. :WTF: Couldn't they have got someone else to fill in? Miandad was just a biryani away. Looks like they're trying to save money again. :cantstop:

Trundler27 Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 where did they come up with 37 applicants all of a sudden? lol I read on one of the threads that they had dean jones and another random dude as the only applicants.... looks like they made up some 'applicants' to make it seem like there's an actual selection process for this prestigious job.

MCcricket Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 It might be a first time in the history of cricket Mohsin khan , coach, selector, might also play at the same time lol.I liked his batting , few times I believe that idiot Miandad when he was batting from the players balcony as coach would've liked to jump on the field and bat,sad good talent with no direction , Pakistan team always talent to waste, nothing will surprise coming from them.
