MCcricket Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Not that quick. Somehow I find it hard sometimes to judge a bowlers pace , especially in domestic games , when the camera work and equipment is not that good.I wonder how you make that judgement, for fastish bowlers , the arm movement is a blur and so the ball till it goes past the bat .

Mithun type of pace this is but has better action. IN these videos, only Faizalk Dhudhat looked close to 140 on some occasions otherwise most were below good speed. He is certainly looking quicker than many, IMO.

I can correct his action very easily in just one week. There are not many changes he needs to do and he will be getting out swing. Bhaja looks faster than VInay, Aravind, Unadkat, etc, has only played 2 FC games yet. He will be one to put an eye on this season. Uppire does not give a plumb LBW, just saw it..

Yes Bhaja looked decent , when he got his action together , hit right length he was quicker, rkt are you involved with coaching. Mithun has abit of the typical Aussie action with the right arm close to the hip and the left arm right up close to the head, like Lee, Watson , but his body is open chested and his follow thru is bad, he looses momentum, kinda open chested but mix, he can either be a side on or a open chested with his hips and follow thru helping him complete his action rather then loose some pace.Specially not being too tall being side on is an advantage also will give him swin maybe he could pivot and jump a bit more then let his legs come around smoothly.

He needs to go side-on. He is not able to utilize all his power with this action. Just a little bit of change will correct it. Bhaja is getting reverse swing. I am watching the video right now.
MCcricket Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Sad bowlers don't have the guidance, havent seen Australian bowlers loose pace, even after injury, with Mithun after a minor injury he was advised to change his action a bit, now they have admitted side on action doesn't lead to injury, different bodies , different actions, Same thing with Irfan don't know why on earth he wasn't allowed to play county, with their level of knowledge , playing games day in and out, your body gets into rhythm and sometimes ur action and ur fitness and the knowledge of the mechanics of ur body improves, look at Zaheer.I can see Irfan bowling at 135 k, swing the ball, could bowl yorkers, could be a great asset for our team, but looks mediocre right now, if he plays county , or maybe spends some time with Pont, he will get better, same thing with Sreesanth his fitness and his action is not tight, let him play county.
MCcricket Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 What these videos show me is we have talent, we have quite a few left armers, also few very tall bowlers, bowlers with decent actions and do have some pace. What we lack is fitness as most bowlers are very slender, selectors do not recognize or understand about the need for fast bowlers. You cannot have 4 Stuart Clarkes in one team, like u cannot have 5 Dravids in a one day game,Bowling line up needs 1 or 2 fast bowlers, equal number of fast medium bowlers who can maybe swing seam are skillfull, maybe one medium fast , that too if he was ultra accurate, can hold up one end, has to be very tall and can use seam. Indian selectors have no idea what they are looking for , do they see V Kumar , P kumar being successfull at higher level , p k maybe in very favourable conditions, what will selecting Unadkat , Unfit RP, mITHUN SERVE IT WILL RATHER STUNT THEIR PROGRESS WHEN THEY FIND THEMSELEVES IN ADEQUATE. LOOK aT Umesh ,Varun , Tyagi , Shami, Rahul Shukla, all these bowlers can bowl 140 to 150,we have seen England SA, pAKISTAN PICK green horn Morkel, Finn, Wahab , picked up on promise, pace is the essential component, skills can be learned, to be effective a strike bowler in international circuit a bowler should be able to bowl between 140 to 148 and he could be versatile.Srikant and the selectors are dumb so is Dhoni as they do not realize this.

Dhoni wake up and pick some pace bowlers.......ex: venkatesh prasad could never be successful with out srinath
