VRV Singh Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Today was the batsmen at fault. He is crap, but whining about Vinay every defeat is not logical. Take solace that Uthappa has played his last game for India.
Sid Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 MSD has lost it as a t20 captain completely. A record of 5 wins and 12 losses against the top sides since the 2007 t20 WC tells you the entire story. Its time for us to have a new t20 captain so that the new guy (Gambhir/Raina/Kohli/Sehwag) gets time before the next year's t20 WC. :dito: I think Kohli should be made the captain.

No one is blaming VK for the loss. Most people are just pissed off at watching this trundler getting selected again and again without showing any consistent performances. One of the main reason for the loss was poor team selection.
Tiger80 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Indian T20 cricket team There are lot of discussions about Indian test and ODI side but what about T20.It is now less than a year that we have First T20 World cup Going to be held in Sub continent Yet we suck in this format despite IPL and Champion's league winner teams.Do you think we have chance in 2012 T20 World cup.
Karan114 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 You'd think the one thing the tamasha would be useful for would be to make India a good T20I side, but we've become progressively more rubbish in that format since the tamasha began.
Karan114 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 An angry Eden curator! We have a test match vs WI at Eden. Will we see Probir da make a wicket which makes Roach' date=' Edwards and co feel at home?[/quote'] He could well do, though given our second string side beat them on fast pitches even in the WI itself, it won't make a difference.
WC2011INDIA Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 You guys need to realize that in the IPL and Champions league, you have international players also playing for the teams. They are the ones that improve the fielding and bowling of most IPL teams. Some perform with the bat as well. Therefore, this theory that we should be a good T20I side because we play so much IPL is pointless.
div Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 ^ It is not Tamasha league, every country has its own league
Tiger80 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 You'd think the one thing the tamasha would be useful for would be to make India a good T20I side' date=' but we've become progressively more rubbish in that format since the tamasha began.[/quote'] Or we can say other teams have improved a lot.The fact is 2007 Wc victory was more of a fluke rather than any planned strategy .The players that contribuited Like sreesanth,Rp singh Irfan are not even picked in IPL teams
Sooda Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 He could well do' date=' though given our second string side beat them on fast pitches even in the WI itself, it won't make a difference.[/quote'] Hey there Karan, not seen you post for a while! :hello:
Karan114 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Hey there Karan' date=' not seen you post for a while! :hello:[/quote'] Hi Sooda! Yes, good to be back. Trust all is well with you.
VRV Singh Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 No one is blaming VK for the loss. Most people are just pissed off at watching this trundler getting selected again and again without showing any consistent performances. One of the main reason for the loss was poor team selection. I agree with them. But I don't see the point of going to town on him with another thread, when the bowlers were given little to work with. I think on some occasions selectors/Dhoni should be cut some slack, today it seemed a misreading of match conditions where they thought pace off the ball might be more effective.
saneindian Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 The shakeup has to start from the top. We need a new skipper and MSD should stop playing t20s liek Clarke, Vettori etc. Post that we need a overhaul of our batting line up. Kohli has to open when Sehwag isn't there and Raina should be the permanent number 3. We will have to look beyond PK, VK and Mithun as our t20 pacers. Need guys with some pace and ability to bowl yorkers , the likes of Aaron, Nechim etc need to play the t20s. Despite all this, our bowling problem in t20s may not disappear completely and I don't see much of an improvement in our t20 record unless we have batsmen piling on 175+ every time :((
Sid Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 We need wicket taking bowlers, its the bowlers that helps you win in T20 matches.A team which has maximum no. of wicket takers in its line up is always a good T20 side.We should give chances to some fast bowlers in this format as well. As far as batting is concerned,I am not that worried.
saneindian Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 He could well do' date=' though given our second string side beat them on fast pitches even in the WI itself, it won't make a difference.[/quote'] Glad to see you back Karan.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 vk whydoes he evn play??y nt play with 10 players?Tenvic has smthng to do with it.aravind is anthr tenvic guy.pathetic .
asterix Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Yes, I think it's time for different captain in different formats. Eng, Aus & RSA has already done that. They're still trying with this new set up and it's bound to have both wins and losses. SL has a captaincy change. In the top ranked teams, India is the only one which has one captain in all the formats. I think there should be a new captain for the T20 team and especially for the T20 WC. Some of Dhoni's techniques are not going to work forever, It didn't worked for CSK this time and couldn't work in T20 WC too. Bowling wise we need some strike bowlers who can give you breakthroughs. PK has the strength of swing. But VK is not improving even after getting the full series in WI, in England and in India.. Spinners are fine. Batsmen are fine. We need better team selection and newer strategies..
Sid Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 I agree with them. But I don't see the point of going to town on him with another thread, when the bowlers were given little to work with. I think on some occasions selectors/Dhoni should be cut some slack, today it seemed a misreading of match conditions where they thought pace off the ball might be more effective. But pace off the ball was effective today for English bowlers throught the innings and when VK took the pace off he was smashed for six :(( Dont want to talk after the event, but we were a spinner short on this pitch.Especially a leg spinner who would have troubled their righties. But oh well........
Karan114 Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Glad to see you back Karan. Cheers saneindian :icflove:
vipin Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Sometimes I feel that our T20 team selection is more like a trophy shelf of people put their just to complete the 11. As if the selectors are trying to feel grateful to some people who did well in an odd domestic match or something and didn't get his due. Or possibly they are just trying to maintain their finances by picking people who can reach the venue with the lowest possible air-fare. Something is wrong somewhere. Not the kind of team selection you would expect, with all the IPL talent and stuff at their disposal.
