J P K Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 While MS Dhoni was taking a look at the wicket for SaturdayÃÔ T20 match against England, one could sense the discomfort in Prabir MukherjeeÃÔ mind. The curator, who was talking to India coach Duncan Fletcher, extended his hand to Dhoni, who returned the favour. Although Dhoni spent some time in the middle of the ground, he did not speak to Mukherjee, clearly indicating that all was not well. After TuesdayÃÔ ODI, Dhoni had remarked that ÅÊt was a very ugly-looking wicket and they were ÅÇortunate to have scored 270-plus. Mukherjee wasnÃÕ too happy with the comments and he did not hide his feelings. Ÿell, Fletcher has told me that he is happy with the wicket, Mukherjee said when asked for his reaction on DhoniÃÔ remarks. ŵhe wicket doesnÃÕ score runs, the batsmen have to do that. Moreover, the pitch is not a cracker that will burst with runs once you light it with a match stick, said Mukherjee, when asked about the wicket for SaturdayÃÔ T20 game. Robin Uthappa, who came for the pre-match conference, pointed out that the practice wickets were ÅÔlow and hoped that the match wicket would be better. He was indicating that the team was not too happy with the strip. England skipper Graeme Swann said it was a ÅÔtrange-looking wicket that turned too much during the second innings of the fifth ODI. This is not the first time that Mukherjee has come under attack from the Indian camp. In 2005, he had laid a greentop that helped South Africa beat India by 10 wickets. The move made headlines as it was alleged that Mukherjee had deliberately prepared a greentop to help the visitors as Sourav Ganguly was part of the Indian team. http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_pitch-doesnt-score-runs-batsmen-do-prabir-mukherjee_1604477
Pagalpanti Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Poor pitch for ODI's and T20. Eden has always had some controversy or the other, even in IPL we've seen some very low scoring games.
Sidhoni Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 For T20s, this is one of the worst pitch one can imagine
WC2011INDIA Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 For T20s' date=' this is one of the worst pitch one can imagine[/quote'] can't blame pitch everytime yaar. Our batsmen didn't bat properly. Our bowlers are not bowling well at all. English bowlers bowled extremely well.
asterix Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 India won the tos.. so can't blame the pitch..
WC2011INDIA Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 India won the tos.. so can't blame the pitch.. Like i said, Dhoni was hoping that they will put up a good total on the board. But both openers FAILED.
Trichromatic Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 For T20s' date=' this is one of the worst pitch one can imagine[/quote'] This was 140-150 pitch. How can this be bad for T20? Do you want Bangalore type pitches?

Sid Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Moronic team selection,on a pitch like this why do you go in with only 2 quality spinners.Rahul deserved a game. And this continous faith on VK by Dhoni is pissing me off. What he wants to prove by playing in each and every match. And I hope this was Yuseless Pathan's last intl. game.

Trichromatic Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 How long will this Indian team continue to disrespect international cricket by going with such bowling line-up?
Sid Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 And worst part was he picked a team packed with batsmen ,which would have useful while chasing but he decided to bat first :wall:
Texy Posted October 29, 2011 Posted October 29, 2011 Vinay Kumar's family must know the right people in right places...his continued selection is baffling
