Some cricketers are simply destined for success. You just cannot stop their rise. I think Ashwin is one of them. Whether he can replicate this type of performance against better teams is yet to be seen, but the guy has got something about him that fascinates me. Ashwin is one of those rare Indian cricketers who does not have stage fright. He simply shows up & performs. The last Indian spinner to possess such attitude and mental strength was Kumble. Ashwin has rarely failed in his career so far. Be it IPL, CL, ODIs or Tests, he has always stood up to the challenge. Thrown in to a world cup match with zero match practice, he picked two against WI. Then, asked to open the bowling in a world cup quarter finals, with field restrictions in place, he got Watson! How many times has BhajaBhajan bowled in a power play ? Its sad that such a bright cricketer was kept out for our douche bag sardar who kept spewing one excuse after the other - dropped catches, the pitch, workload, T20 et al, for his pathetic no-show for a gazillion games. Not to mention shirking away from Engerland with a fake b00b injury. I am glad sardar is out of the team. Befriending the captain, playing politics and giving speeches can only keep you in the team for so long. Darty now has to bribe some Ranji batsmen to lower his average of infinity. And the moment he does that, you won't hear the end of him. Good riddance, in the mean time!

What do you mean Praaji? I have praised Bhajji every single time on his good performances and I also know that he has been a match winner for us on numerous occasions not just with the ball in hand, but with the bat too. I am not denying the fact that he is one of the toughest Cricketers going around and will come back to his best soon. What I am saying is that Bhajji has just not been his usual self in the recent past and stats prove my words. Tell me, do you not find any difference between Bhajji of old and Bhajji now? Performance wise I have found a gulf of difference. He has been way to defensive and he has lacked the dominant spirit which he earlier had about him. I know I cannot judge a player after just one Test match, but Ashwin has done reasonably well in the limited opportunities he has got which leaves very little margin to think otherwise. I personally believe that Bhajji will be ineffective in Australia, he did not do well last year and I am sure the track wont be a dustbowl to help Bhajji's cause. My opinion was not directed at the individual but at his performances and form in the recent past which has been very ordinary. Having said that, he can always come back after showing up in the domestic circuit :nice: And my friendly advise to you would be - stop getting hyper and calling everyone here against Bhajji a "pussy" and start believing the fact that Bhajji is not the "Asardar Sardar" as he used to be with the ball in hand once upon a time in his career. That would do you a world of good. :icflove:

gaurav92...I care less if Bhajji never gets selected for team India, he will get his chance if he does well..or else no..with other spin bowlers doing well. I hate people who post nonsense, call stupid names at cricket players and act like keyboard warriors. Also why disrespect someone so bad who has single handedly won many matches for our team in the past...I don't get this idea that if you have to praise a spinner like Ashwin..you have to talk trash about Bhajji...more than anger it's the bloody hate filled posts that don't make no sense.

Quote any of my posts wherein I have spewed venom about Bhajji? It may be a sarcastic one, but definitely not personal. As I said, I am a big fan of Bhajji and I too want him to come back into form and play for India once again, but his form has been the total opposite and that is what concerns me more than anything else. I agree that we will find plethora of evil keyboard warriors posting badly about him, but they have been given various opportunities by the man himself, his repeated failures followed by the untouchable place in the Playing XI frustrates many posters here and they feel he takes his place in the side for granted. Now that Ashwin has been awarded a spot, and he has done well, they are justified. Only Bhajji can silent them with a brilliant performance which is due. So let us wait for our time which will come very shortly if you ask me :nice:. One thing is certain, when our time will come, many of the posters who are against Bhajji will be offline for weeks.

As I had expected, he bowled well in tests too. I don't know why people brand a person based on a particular format. If he is good in a format it doesn't mean that he'll be performing in same way(style of bowling/batting) in all formats :dontknow:

Why is it that a praise for Ojha and Ashwin has to be followed by dissing bhaji? Its great to see two young guys perform when given an opportunity. But that doesn't in any way take anything away from the things Bhajji has done for the country. lets celebrate the success of these youngsters but not at the cost of abusing one of the finest spinnerrs we have had in our history.

Ashwin is fast becoming one of my favourite players. His aggression as a spinner separates him from the rest of the current bunch and for all the negatives about IPL, it must be said that it's helped discover and develop the skills of a gem here. It saddens me to think we had an out of sorts Bhajji replaced by the pathetic no ball King in England. We were crying out for someone to stand toe to toe with England in the spin department and Ashwin could have made a difference. As for the Bhajji bashing, there is no need. If he makes it back to the team, it means he has rediscovered his form which is great news for India. If he doesn't, we know our spin department is in safe hands with Ojha and Ashwin.
