Dhoni_fan Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 While I understand your reasoning behind this, I do not see the need for this rule to be so strict, yesterday for instance I complained about another forum to make people aware how lucky we are here! I did not mention the forums names or anything like that yet it was locked! I respect your rules and will follow them but I dont think this is fair

Most of the time posters try to reply to something which they don't like on other forum by using ICF. If anyone is afraid of replying there, then he shouldn't post it here.

We have people moaning about biased moderation. Moderation isn't going to be perfect. But if a moderator feels a thread could end up going in the wrong direction, its best to kill it off before it has the opportunity
Rajiv Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Dhoni Fan - The rule is there for a reason and comes down from experience. Besides, it's totally unfair to discuss threads which weren't here to begin with. People read these stupid threads and bring their baggage here coz they were pissed off, it's best to deal with it there.
ganeshran Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 ICF is a place to discuss cricket, its not a place to discuss the attitude of members at other forums.
CSK Fan Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Plus, as Rajiv said, its pretty unfair to discuss things which are not on this forum. Many times I have seem people outrightly lying, exaggerating things or taking them out of context before posting them here and people tend to believe it. For example, there might be some sarcastic threads/posts here by people but you can easily copy them and pretend they are being serious

It is not a major issue just wanted to get my view across but all in all am very happy here on this forum and enjoy the atmosphere :)

Outty is very easy with bans so there's obviously some history behind this Regardless, locking and keeping this thread 'stickied' for the rest
ganeshran Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Can we post this as announcement so everyone reads this? - Like the Forum Guidelines are there currently.
DomainK Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Sadly, very few members actually read the announcements. The forum guidelines announcement has only 4949 views in almost a year. This thread is already doing better than that. Besides, this rule is there in the forum guidelines. This thread is a special reminder of the rule.
