His scores this year in the format: 0, DNB, 0, 16, 2, 5, 74, DNB, 28, 16, 5, 0, 77, 74*, 17, 3, 0, 0. Surely there are other keepers in this country of a billion?

Surely if this continues till Australian tour, selectors should consider bringing in someone else.

Other then that, I could careless of his performances. He is worth more then just a batsmen and a keeper

His awful batting in the tests was being ignored for a long time as the overall team results have been great but lately fans are realizing that his individual contribution to the team is zero . A Great Test captain has to be an excellent individual performer at the first place someone like Ponting or Imran Khan or even Kapil Dev , those who can make the playing 11 even if captaincy is snatched away from them but at the moment even a Nobody like Sammy is contributing more to his team than Dhoni . After another disastrous overseas tour ,selectors must select best 11 players in the country and choose the captain from within rather than giving chance to someone with a horrible technique spend easy time in world class team under the excuse of a wicket-keeper.

It sometimes seems some fans watch cricket so that they can criticize players.Nothing else.

Ah, that's why we stick with the bloke who's scraped up 5 ducks in the past year, with 7 more opportunities left. Of course. And if he's planning on learning how to bat at this age (30+), we're done for.

b555 Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 OP, tell me one wicket keeper who has 1)led his team to 20-20 wc win 2) any similar situation where he ahs allowed joginder sharma like bowler to bowl last ball of wc 3) won a world cup in HIS HOMELAND 4) was man of match in the FINAL 5) has an excellent record of chasing as a BATSMAN 6) can actually win a streak of nearly 20 matches consecutively for his team while chasing 7) icc odi player for 2 consecutive years 8) avg 50+ in ODIs 9) just lose 1 test series till now ( i don exactly remember how many series he has captained so far) 10) present squad, tell me one another such prolific captain? 11) has a significant record for his country as winning captain that matches one of the best that come before him
