10 Year Old Gives Birth In Mexico, Not the First Young Girl to do so Recently A 10-year-old girl has given birth to a premature baby boy in Mexico, reports the New York Daily News. The baby is suffering from pneumonia and weighs only 3.3 pounds. The girl had a cesarean and was suffering from complications which included seizures. Sadly she is not the first young girl to give birth so young in Mexico. In that country the age of consent is 12 and abortion is not an option in most areas unless rape or sexual assault can be proven. Officials are investigating to find out who the father of this latest baby born to a young girl is. If a girl has an abortion without consent of the government, she could find herself in prison. The 10 year old has been released from the hospital, she comes to visit her baby each day.
