which plan you using.? photon not working in every place?
Not sure of the plan, but it has decent speed and in my experience, it works in most places. I travel a bit from time to time and have not faced any difficulties yet. Though my experience is limited to cities only.

SJ - one GB plan will cost you around 600-700 bucks. Add 100 bucks for every 1 GB more till 5GB. This is how reliance plans were. Plus you could put an add on of 200 bucks which gives 10 GB at night from 10PM - 6AM

We are perpetually stuck at 2mbps. Though there are 4 and 8 Mbps plans available. All are subject to technical feasibility and not available in many parts of the city.
I hear ya, it's always harder to find good deals in the interior places. My cousin is always ranting how his net is always slower than what he pays for.
Hmm.. at home we have a 4MBps connection (Airtel Broadband) The Reliance Datacard was supposed to give me 4MBps too, but I could only squeeze 2-3Mbps out of it.
They are pretty fast now.. I have a 20 mbps connection. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
That's about how much speed I have. The norm around my area is 25-50mbps with unlimited traffic(I think residences are 25 and commercial are 50). These are relatively the only connections you will find. I believe there are slower connections available but cost about the same. Do you have traffic limit? How much does it cost? How reliable is it?

I have been using Tata-Photon+ for last 2 years. Pretty satisfied with the quality, except during initial days it used to get slow around 9pm-12. Also, for last couple of months I have used MTS-MBlaze too, it used to work very good in my friend's place, but would be painfully slow at my place - except late-nigh/early-morning. So, as others have already suggested, if possible - borrow a device from your friend and use it for few days in your place. More than the provider, the location is the limiting factor of the quality. Also, one more thing - as is with most Indian ISPs - as long as it is working, there is not much difference in quality of connection. But once you have some problem, you have to factor in the quality of the service. And I have found Tata's QoS pretty decent.. much better than MTS. One more thing - MTS has better deal for unlimited plan - I used for two months and the fair usage limit at high speed is 30GB, for the price of 999., it does not show in the tariff chart, and may vary from region to region.

is there a . Before o ? Which provider it is MTNL? I read somewhere BSNL or MTNL planned a 100 Mbps service but too expensive for general user

Reliance USB net connect. Wonderful connectivity. I was able to troll on ICF even whilst traveling on the Mumbai Pune expressway. Photon+ is also just as good, I hear.

I need help toooooo Im going to India next week. What is best sim card for my phone that I can use for data? I just need to be able to browse the internet all over the country(delhi, mumbai, hyd). I at least 2 gb for month :pray:

Why do you need a USB internet connection? Do you travel a lot? A fixed line internet works out to be far more cheaper. I used to pay 900 odd bucks for a 1GB day, 10 GB night plan in reliance. The maximum download plan available was 15GB at 1400 odd. With airtel fixed line, you get 25 GB unlimited (speed reduces to 256kbps after the limit) plan for 1299 and 75GB unlimited for 1599. Also the speeds in fixed line are way more reliable than wireless net connection.
This. I was a USB user for almost 2 years. While in the first year, the speeds promised met actuals, with proliferation of users, it just nosedived. Sometimes I couldn't even connect. Sometimes they just excused and said it was due to network issue. I went 3 months without using even 500 MB due to terrible speed and finally got myself a BB connection. Now am getting excellent and consistent speed. I got myself a wireless router so no issues roaming around in my house as well.

ya USB is great for people who travel a lot, otherwise its neither cheap nor fast.
