ShebbySB Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 I was in the ground,I'm really very impressed by this 21 year old guy.His figures were 116-5 in 40 odd overs where other two bowlers Ranadeb Bose & Dinda got 0:phehehe: & 1 wkt respectively.Shami got 1 bowled,1 lbw,2 ct by the keeper Saha & 1 ct by Dinda in the deep fine leg which was a bumper. He was consistently sharp throughout the day though he was overused.Trundler Ranadeb only bowled 25 odd overs.Anyway Shami is a serious talent & he can be another genuine quick in the Indian setup along with Umesh,Aaron & Ishant.
kabira Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 well lets hope Neo shows one of the Bengal's game .
sid316 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Wow.really cant wait to watch this lad on tv.somebody ask neo sports to broadcast bengal matches
sid316 Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Btw,shebby bro.its really difficult to tell widout speed gun bt whatever did u see,how quick does he look?135-140?
saneindian Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 He is definitely one to look out for. Has a great action for bowling outswingers at 140+. Needs to continue the good work, do well for Bengal and then in the Duleep Trophy early next year.
ShebbySB Posted November 20, 2011 Author Posted November 20, 2011 Btw' date='shebby bro.its really difficult to tell widout speed gun bt whatever did u see,how quick does he look?135-140?[/quote'] I think he's capable of 137-145kph.He was the quickest bowler of the match by far & the local AnandaBazar Potrika is going gaga over his pace & comparing him with Aaron & Umesh. He was couple of yards quicker than Dinda. It'll be interesting to see him on Neo Cricket.
Dravid_TheWall Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hmm lots more seamers coming through. Good news.
Number Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Hmm lots more seamers coming through. Good news. bad news for you , Sree.:P
MCcricket Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 First ball he bowled for KKR was 141 k's, so he has pace, smooth run up and action , rhythmic, suprisingly generates more pace then u would think, can swing and seam the ball, Akram rates him highly, one fear is he bowled 41 overs I think , hopefully not overbowled, Bose needs to be dropped for some one who can give more support.
MCcricket Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 He was in KKR? Any video? Yes he played for KKR , CLT20 http://www.sportsallways.com/MailScoreCard.aspx?MID=a367a79ec72a408d Shami Ahmed reminds me of Sreesanth in a way, good runup, similar action, but only better ,faster, moves the ball, bowls in 140's without much effort,Shami Ahmed, Tyagi if fit, Gony, Anwar Ahmed,Nechim should be send on A tours and also play against international visiting sides as they have potential. I HOPE DRAVID THE WALL is not watching lol or he will start ranting and raving lol
mastana Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 ^^ Thanks. Looks good. Can't believe we have so many phaast bowlers coming up. :aha:
Dravid_TheWall Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 bad news for you ' date=' Sree.:P[/quote'] These seamers coming through, they are not even worthy of Sree pi***** on them. Sree's glory will live on as long as cricket will be played. Bit like Kambli being a lost talent, almost poetic :(( But fear not, Kerela express will return, I am sure of it. :nice:

I HOPE DRAVID THE WALL is not watching lol or he will start ranting and raving lol I saw this guy in IPL for KKR. He bowled mainly 135k. Slower than Kerala speedster and didn't look like a talented wicket taker. Wasim Akram just praised him, we all know about what happened to Unadkat :hysterical: Seriously though, this guy is a prospect like many of our upcoming seamers, but way to early to compare them to the skill and mastery of Sree.
pensionplan Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 well lets hope Neo shows one of the Bengal's game .Yup, you get this lad plus the buffoon Ganguly for free stealing a youngsters spot in the Ranji team to get ready for the IPL where he is unfit anyway.
fineleg Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Seriously though, this guy is a prospect like many of our upcoming seamers, but way to early to compare them to the skill and mastery of Sree.
express bowling Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 The speed guns in the Ranji matches are showing majorly slower readings than the international ones. Balaji, who bowls 125 k to 132 k even on his slower days, was bowling 108 k to 118 k although he was looking quite nippy. Nehra was bowling 113k to 123 k and we all know that his normal pace range is 130 k to 142 k. He has never bowled below 127 k consistently. In the match vs. TN he was not looking very slow but still registering abysmal speeds. This speed gun must be atleast 10 k slower if not more. I don't even know whether this is consistent. Please consider this while gauging the speed of a new bowler like Shami Ahmed.. P Awana of Delhi was bowling 127 k to 141 k ( that is maybe upto 151 k in an international match ), at this same match and looking seriously quick. He was bowling very accurately too and got quite a few wickets. This guy can be a good prospect. i don't know why many people talk about him ?
MCcricket Posted November 20, 2011 Posted November 20, 2011 Speed guns seem to show 90 % of the bowlers about 125 to 130 k's, even bowlers who constantly bowl at 135 to 140 in internationals show that speed, either they are not putting effort or it is the speed gun.Gony was bowling at 135 k's though, Aaron bowled 140 plus in local games, so guns might be inconsistent.

These days Balaji hardly crosses the 120 kph barrier based on what I've seen of him in IPL and these speeds seem quite accurate.
