i havent looked at the stats but in my experience of watching cricket, i am sure tendulkar is the most well rounded batsman i have ever seen. i have seen him score runs in all kinds of conditions, against all kinds of bowlers. i think lara did that as well.

I think he got out on fast bowler against India more than spinners. Though I would say barely playing is not a right argument. Whatever, he played, he did not come up with big scores.

Almost all players have at least 1 odd opposition or country where their performance is below average. This is true for bowlers also. Lara : poor avg against Ind poor avg in India poor avg in NZ.

Yup, SRT was averaging in the mid-30's lesser than VVS in SA before the last tour of SA a year back. But the kind of form he was in and the type of player he is he made sure he made it count and sure enough that average surged and he is sitting pretty even in SA. Good for him.

It doesn't prove anything but the fact that he plays for stats. He precisely calculated and planned that how he can end up by having average of more than 40 in each country and then executed that plan to the perfection, without caring what team needed from him. It's so simple :dontknow:

In the previous tours, to SA, Sachin scored 1 great 100 but apart from that, the rest would be a single digit score. I think it was only in 1992 that he scored a 70 odd apart from a 100. This time around he scored 2 100's with one not-out as well, that really helped him mend his average there.
