Have the planners of the dastardly attack been brought to justice? No they are not. The responsibility for this lies partly with the Govt and partly with the citizens IMHO. With a population of over 1 billion there is only so much that the Govt can do and unless the common man is vigilant, all terrorists will always have an easy time targeting us. People who live in cities which have been attacked may have become a bit apprehensive but in cities which have fortunately not seen any major attacks (like Lucknow) I don't think people live in any kind of fear. As for ignoring security - that is one thing at which we Indians seem to have become experts. After 26/11 all the major malls everywhere had increased security and every person going in or out was checked but after 4-5 months passed, the situation was back to normal and the security was back to its usual lax standards. Some of the individuals may have been brought to justice but by and large, not much has happened.

I am not scared and I don't think majority of the nation's people live in fear of a terrorist attack. Life goes on. On an aside that question sounded like Barkha Dutt (replace with any attention craving, TRP seeking, sensationalizing news anchor) screaming through the idiot box with her hyper sensitive expression when interviewing a victim. Have the planners of the dastardly attack been brought to justice?I thought most people already knew the answer to it - No

You obviously ignored the second part of the question. Do we or do we not ignore security as a primary concern? From malls to software parks to railway stations, there is scant attention given to it. People might not be living in fear (and they should not), but ignoring it is not going to make the problem go away. The same TRP seeking, sensationalizing news anchor would heap accolades on the "spirit of city" when everything is back to normal the next day and people forget the whole issue two weeks down the line.
phaedrus Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 its pathetic to see the frisking that happens in some of the malls. no one cares and its only for show. the worst part is how people protest, i for one wouldn't mind an extra few mins of waiting to ensure our cities are safe. its the absolute ****ing least i can do the saddest part is seeing unmanned metal detectors. saw one in the new delhi railway station that was not functioning and a dog was sleeping on it. an attack can happen anytime.

I don't think we live in a war zone like your question seems to indicate - the fear part especially. I am not too concerned whether my bag gets checked at the mall or someone else's does. And that is a very honest answer. I could've paid the general lip-service and said oh no we need to do this, we are not doing that, lavada lasun. But that's my honest take.
