Are too flat pitches good for Indian cricket?

Who else thinks that its not healthy to be scoring 400 so many times? India have scored 3 400 plus scores at home? Surely we are wrecking our bowlers more? I am all for 300 pitches. But anything more than say 350 is where i draw the line. Dont get me wrong Sehwag was a joy to watch. But its like the entire innings is a highlights package.

cause the thing is if you visit the cricinfo site it says lively pitch for the Aus v Nz series. Now i am all for playing your out of form batsman into form. Give them a healthy helping hand. But it must be hard even for the batsman to go from playing on a flat road to paying on something which seams.

for one dayers these pitches are fine. it is all about entertaining the crowd, big sixes and big scores. for tests, these kind of pitches are awful.

its not so easy there is large amount of scoreboard pressure to contend with. But i wont be surprised if they reach 300. I think that game v SL in rajkot was a close call as well.

as i said before these is scoreboard pressure to contend with. and setting a limit is pretty easy. Pick a number which you think defines a flat pitch and one which defines a really flat pitch. For me that number is 350 in todays context

Let me steal this from "Gladiator" "Are you not entertained?" There should be all types of pitches, sometime flat, sometime balanced, sometime helping bowlers.

Had Sehwag got out early, doubt if we would have made more than 300. It was the Vru effect which made the mammoth total possible. There are flat pitches everywhere in ODIs, on days when guys like Sehwag and Sachin bat through most of the innings, totals in excess of 350-360 will be made especially by our batting line up.
