Well look at it this way. Which is the weakest link in the Indian cricket team. The pace bowling (i am right surely?) This is not a world cup. (in which ironically India lost and drew the matches against non minnows when we scored over 300) Its just some random series. Wont it be great if we can say our batting can withstand anything. Lets back the people like Mithun and Vinay with pitches which can offer them something. How do you think Mithun feels after 4 overs and 37 runs? Sure there are better options than him. I agree with that sentiment. But how exactly are our pacers supposed to develop? Then need confidence building as well.

i know wht ur saying but every country produces flat tracks for odis.. there is nothing wrong when australia score 350 in there grounds why should it be wrong here? odis are diff from tests but not all pitches should be like this if there was good opposition they would ve tried to chase it down and then it becomes epic high scoring match like aus vs sa was or india vs sri lanka all im saying once in a while its not bad thing but in tests pitches should assist bowlers flat tracks are crime in tests

and about mithun yep i agree and i feel bad for him lets give him another chance in next game rest vk this performance should not be considered but tbh he will fail even on assisting tracks u can tell by his action,wrist position,pace..he is doing nothing correctly and developing pacers.. u dont actually develop there basic skills at international level u just improve there accuracy or minor problems if u have major prob go back to fc cricket and honestly good bowler would ve atleast bowled some good bowls even vk got edge

nothing to do with flat pitches, flat pitches are their in sri lanka, bangla, dhaka, england (oval, somerset ground), and several austrialian grounds. give where credit is due, this odi indian batting line-up is on a different level compared to everyone else, in most games even in England they out-batted england in odis but alas india's terrible bowlers let them down, this english season even england failed to score 300plus at their home, whilst india did. from 1 to 6 india have batsmen capable of playing the long innings and maintain a strike rate of 100plus. so please stop making this stupid remark about pitches, because idioits liek thi OP only adds to sense that results in england, south africa and australia matter, conclusion: stupid thread

Otherwise surely we would be seeing 400s all over the place in India and way more often. Next time we play in MP odds are high on the team batting first getting 400. If your a betting man time to put some money on it. I do hope the other venues like Vizag etc dont go down this route and try to out flatten the MP wickets.

if yuvraj,dhoni were there then who knows but ya with this batting line up 340 max would ve been scored not bcos of sehwag strike rate but when u score 300 one of ur top 3 needs to score big and stay will end otherwise its jsut not possible cos inningsi s rebuilded when quick wickets fall at start and then u never aim for 400
