specs are not similar at all.
5"-1920X1080 441 ppi display , 2 GB RAM, 13 mp camera(1080p video), 32 GB space, multi-touch display has 16million colors support. 5MP front-facing camera for video calling. Dual-sim. Quadcore 1.5 ghz MTK6589 Turbo processor. one can say qualcomm snapdragon is better than mtk but i doubt it will make much difference at such high specs. It has a 2,000mAH battery which gives upto 8 hours of Talktime and 220 hours of Standby time. Admittedly it lags a little here. But still decent.
That's good tbh :two_thumbs_up: Thing is Indian brands doesn't give OTA or any kinda of updates after phone is released and the users is stuck with stock version till the end and there will be no support in online forum for customizations. It doesn't have resale value too if consumers wants to sell it back.
my cousin sold this 9k phone for 6800/- on olx after a month of buying. Don't ask why did he sell, he's an idiot.

exactly not same display quality is unknown but any one iwll tell you lg ipl display are best in market right now and sony too have 1080p displays which suck so much that even old retina iphone display look better so specs are nothing . and that chip is old..nexus has krait 400 cores and adreno 330 gpu..it is like 2 generations ahead  not only powerful but it will give much better battery life too (both display and processor ) please do not compare these specs even last year's nexus 4 will out perform it easily.

It certainly, especially in games because of full HD screen. This processor is not made for Full HD and it is not for gaming because of lower frame rate of 37. While it should be more than 50 to get the best result. In terms of performance Mediateck SOC phones stand nowhere in front of Qualcomm Snapdragon. GPU Is not good enough. Look at the difference in benchmarks. The Note 3 N9005 Benchmark Antutu Benchmark: 31982 Vellamo: HTML5 (2656), METAL (1178). Nenamark2: 60.2 FPS. Canvas Turbo Benchmark Scores AnTuTu – 15473. Vellamo – HTML5 1568, Metal 590. Nenamark 2 – 32.7 fps

If one is so particular abt perf. for heavy games, Antutu rating for mediatek octo-core is ~25500. HTC one is 26400. Nexus 4 is 17000 http://www.gsmarena.com/mediatek_mt6589_octacore_cpu_gets_benchmarked-news-6997.php

First smartphone using MediaTek's true octa-core processor is announced

Chinese manufacturer UMI has introduced the UMI X2S. What makes this an important handset is that it is the first smartphone to be powered by the world's first true octa-core processor, the MT6592. Produced by MediaTek, the chip can access all 8 cores at one time. This is in comparison to the Samsung Exynos 5 octa-core processor which uses the big.LITTLE architecture and can only have one group of four cores active at a time. The UMI X2S was displayed at the Hong Kong Electronics Fair which ended on Wednesday. The device is the sequel to the UMI X2. The manufacturer traditionally uses MediaTek silicon which is usually priced lower than processors made by other firms, like Qualcomm. The UMI X2S features a 5 inch screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution and is equipped with a 1.5GHz MT6592 octa-core processor under the hood. 2GB of RAM is on board along with 32GB of native storage. The 13MP snapper on back features a Sony made lens and the model supports NFC. The price of the UMI X2S ranges from RMB 1,499 ($245 USD) to RMB 1,999 ($327 USD). No launch date was announced.

But consider this when Qualcomm and Samsung will produce true Octacore, how much better it will be than this Mediatek Octacore because Mediatek Octacore is not even better than their quadcores.

I was comparing only with quadcore qualcomm phones.

What makes u think others won't improve further when it cones and these are just benchmarks so it's use less ..what about power consumption ? And then even 4 cores are beating octa so we all know apps which only support quad core will run slow on it . Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

as performed prototype running said octa-core CPU operating at 1.7GHz paired with a Mali-450 GPU, 1GB of RAM and a 720p HD display. In this configuration, the AnTuTu benchmark suite returned a score of 25,496 points. As you can see in the chart below, that's a not too far behind the scores of the Snapdragon 800 beasts and almost on par with the HTC One rocking a Snapdragon 600. AnTuTu 4 Higher is better Sort by LabelSort by Value Samsung Galaxy Note 3 31,109 Sony Xperia Z1 30,850 LG G2 30,243 Sony Xperia Z Ultra29,185 Samsung Galaxy S4 27,613 HTC One26,389 MediaTek MT6592 prototype25,495 LG Nexus 4 17,006 MediaTek has officially confirmed that the chip can run at 2GHz. The higher frequency should be able to return more than 30,000 points, and software optimizations might help improve the score even further, but that's yet to be confirmed and remains just a speculation at this point. A couple of months ago Qualcomm released a video bashing MediaTek's octa-core chipset, saying that it's not the number of core that matters, but their performance. It appears Samsung doesn't share Qualcomm's view on the matter, thought, as it also announced it's working on a true octa-core Exynos chip. The company has confirmed it won't update the Galaxy Note 3 or the Galaxy S4 with true octa-core capabilities, suggesting that it's probably saving it for the upcoming Galaxy S5 flagship.
This is mediatek octa core perf tested with 1gb ram BTW, would maybe increase when tested with2gb ram. 2gb octacore mediatek is available at just $245 in china.let's see how much its launched for in India.

difference is its not used in phone so i can eat through more power and generate more head which is not acceptable in phone unless we see benchmark from phone its pointless

I will get back to you with battery performance of octa core umi x2s when I find that on internet, I found following comments on earlier version of quad core mediatek phone called umi x2 -
Hmmm, don't know about that. I happen to have a UMI X2 and gotta say I and most of my friends were impressed when we first saw the quality and performance. It is definitely on par with let's say Samsung or HTC top devices spec-wise. And UMI is not really a shady chinese manufacturer, they even have an official webshop for Europe (umi.eu.com) where I got my phone. REPLY2013-10-23 14:46mjLW smurferboy > In reply to Don2x @ 2013-10-22 03:57 from vpc4 - click to read Foxconn and other chinese OEM companies make pretty much every smartphone on the planet. The iPhone is actually assembled in the same city (Shenzhen) as UMI and most other Chinese (and western) smartphones. If your phone says 'made in the UK', that actually means 'put in a box in the UK

PPI = resolution for ex. 1920X1080 divided by screen area. Is that right? If android doesn't support 8 cores then Samsung n umi to make 8 core doesn't make sense.
samsung is worst offender of selling people gimmicks..:winky: and ppi jsut tells you about sharpness and not how good screen is .. for example sony's 1080p screen sucks..while lg's 1080p screen even with bit lesser ppi as its bigger screen is best in market.
