velu Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 its impossible that android ecosystem made less money with everything pointing upwards samsung is going down but i told you this last year before lg g3 or htc one m8 were launched that these companies will make more profit now and also sony and they are making profit moto also sold moto g like never before that s where samsung is going down.. high end market share is very overrated for these big companies they win and lose in lower end ...galaxy s5 probably sold more than galaxy s4 but their over all sales did not increase much :winky: no.. its very much possible .. and i am not trolling average price of android handsets is gradually going down ( ASP ) , but apple ASPs are more or less constant.. lg + sony + HTC made 500 million USDs more this quarter .. but samsung lost more than 2 billion dollars though lower selling price doesnt mean low end phones .. xiaomi and lenova gives flagship products for the prie of midrange phones

Old guy Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 no.. its very much possible .. and i am not trolling average price of android handsets is gradually going down ( ASP ) , but apple ASPs are more or less constant.. lg + sony + HTC made 500 million USDs more this quarter .. but samsung lost more than 2 billion dollars though lower selling price doesnt mean low end phones .. xiaomi and lenova gives flagship products for the prie of midrange phones just because price is down does not means profit is down. most companies are making cheaper alternatives like htc one e8 they still make decent profit but cut corners its very simple they jsut got good at keeping cost down an chinese manufacturers were always good at it but problem was android was very heavy and very laggy on low end which no longer is case i used moto e yesterday and that thing does not lags! even play store which lags on 90 percent of devices does not lags ..device like this was impossible last year as it will be POS but since 4.3 and 4.4 its possible to make decent phones at this price apple probably still dominates high end but their sales are hardly impressive and they are losing badly in tablet section to me industry is at saturation point and google was smart enough to exploit low end quicker than others and they even fecked samsung in process:giggle:
