Nice time to bump the thread... though things didn't go exactly the way I thought the way they would but the Indian batting giants lived up to the role they played in England and the end result will be the same

Have never seen such humiliating back to back away tours. Even in 90s every series had a bright spot but Eng tour, and now this one has been one huge disaster where we have simply been rolled. Thought we were past those days of 90s and now we are into 50s and 60s :haha:

At least england are a good side' date=' no shame in that. However getting battered by the worst aussie side in 30 years :giggle:[/quote'] The way they lost was shameful. We made England look way better and are doing the same with Aussies.

Do you think BCCI would be getting worried that such ineptitude will affect IPL popularity? That's the only thing that will scare BCCI into action esle they will be fine as long as money keeps on coming in.

we also need thier help in retirement buseness
I seriously wouldn't mind seeing all the seniors retire. Enough of SRT and his 99 100s as well. At least when youngsters play there is always hope and excitement seeing someone emerge. Here it's nothing but endless torture with no end in sight.

BCCI needs to set a timetable and come up with a plan to phase out all seniors within the next 2 years. Laxman should go immediately followed by Dravid & SRT. Even if these players perform we need to phase them out as we don't want to face a similar situation we just faced. No point in going through another nightmare 2 years from now. We have already hit rock bottom and it can't get any worse.

Next two years? All 3 should retire before the end of year at best after the England series. If they are selfish then they need to be dropped. Please dont tell me our seniors know when to retire. If that was the case Dravid and Ganguly would have retired after 2007 world cup from ODIs and Sachin after the 2011 wc.heck have even Laxman announced retirement from ODIS? So suddenly expecting seniors to realize they are past their sell by date is too much. Its upto the selectors to drop them if they refuse to retire.

I was charitable with the timeline of 2 years but I wouldn't mind seeing them retire as soon as the series gets over. The reason we kept faith in them was for marquee series like the Eng and Aus tour and it was pathetic to see them struggle when we really wanted them to show up. If we had to lose we coul dhave done with youngsters and after this series nothing much remains. We need to sunset these stars and build a young team for the future who should at least perform better than the current team.

Its high time we start making up conspiracy theories to explain this.
My small contribution before the 'experts' manufacture their theories - Evil BCCI wants to kill test cricket and players are fully co-operating with them The cricketers are not having enough sex dose as recommended by Gary

What are you talking about? The players have got serious @$$ r@*ing since the Eng tour and it's still not enough dosage?

I just can't believe how this team has no fight in it. We're getting hammered by Aussies who are going through their weakest period.
Nothing like series against India to get back to form :haha:
