Aaron was lucky..He got into the spotlight with the 153K ball he bowled in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. That caught people's imagination and made selectors aware of him. I hope Shukla and Nechim also do something similar

It is not the same scorecard of the same match which I am talking about. Reliance scored 169, while BPCL could only score 167 and Reliance one won by 2 runs.

As RKT said, the upcoming Vijay Hazare trophy (where he could actually bowl with Aaron) will be his big opportunity. He should do well there and then can get into the Deodhar Trophy and then follow it up with a good IPL. Hope he is impressing the coaches at Reliance and they will give him a chance for MI.

he already had one fifer in vijay hazare trophy in 2010 and also had impressed MI management and was named in MI 2010 squad but suffered back stress fracture just before IPL. he recovered from that before CL T20 and bowled in MI nets a lot but as he was not a part of the original team that played in IPL so he could not play in CL, but then he suffered a serious groin injury later in Ranji season which again kept him out for long time but now he looks trimer and stronger than before.

Hope Jharkhand selects him for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. They dropped him this season in the Ranji after playing him for only two games. Rather unfair, considering that he had come back after a long lay-off.

Can we somehow request BCCI to show Jharkhand matches in Vijay Hazare trophy and East vs West match in Duleep trophy and also take care of speedguns? As speedguns were not there in Ranji final, I doubt it will be there for Duleep Trophy and Vijay Hazare matches

He is completely raw. I personally feel, he needs to toil hard in domestic for minimum 2 years then definitely at 23-24 age, he can be selected for Indian team. Bcoz, you know, I read somewhere, right now he is somewhere around 140ks and the more time he stays away from Indian team , the more he will be inspired to bowl faster and break the record of Varun Aaron to catch the eyes of the selectors. No that is the wrong part. You cannot let them toil in FCs. He needs to be listed for grooming purposes. If toiling hard was the case, Pat Cummins and Pattinson would not have been playing for Australia so early.

The more HUNGER is there in them to get into the Indian team, the more they will work hard. I mean, I myself loves to see Rahul Shukla bowling extreme pace. But, just imagine for a while. How do you like to see Umesh Yadav bowling? 1. Bowling pace like today but looking completely off-colour. Or 2. Bowling pace and beating the bat more often whether or not he picks up any wickets. Even Yadav is not a 90% bowler as yet. He is only 70%. there. But he has toiled very hard for 2 yrs to even get to 60% mark when he was selected for Indian team vs England ODI. Umesh, what I saw off him 2 yrs ago, is completely a new bowler from that time. And Rahul is not even 30%. I am giving him 30% coz he has pace and physique. I am telling you, even you will get frustrated to see Rahul bowling shyt if he gets to play for India at this moment.

agree these guys need to learn a lot they should play odis, ipl thing is they have potential to be good.. most of these guys they are not relaly good right now.. like poeple use word they are still raw

You forgot why Yadav improved because he played for India and then was dropped which made him work on his bowling more. Yes neither are Yadav, Aaron, nor Shukla is finished product, but they are going to learn much playing domestic cricket. You need to hand them to a good coach who can work on them. Bascis are same for every bowler and batsman and it is just how a bowler or a batsman follow them is important. He has played 10 FC matches and has o0nly one 5-fer and has not attracted any one with his performance apart from his pace. While guys like Patel and Rituraj are in first season and are picking up loads of wickets. To be successful in Indian domestic, bowlers do not always need to have pace and enough swing will get you wickets but that is not the case in test cricket always where you need both things. If some one like him has not get many wickets in FC cricket even with pace then he will be advised and will think himself regarding rather concentrating on swinging the ball than pace and once he will lose the pace, he will not be what he has been talked about. I am not asking him to play in international matches straightaway, but like we had Yadav and Unadkat with team for grooming purposes we can have him too. It is my point of view and I have seen how genuine fast bowlers are drafted early into the teams without much FC experience. The recent cases are Cummins, Pattinson, and De Lange. I would have let him play FC if he was playing in county cricket or in Australian domestic, but toiling on Indian pitches is back breaking for a fast bowler. Think if Yadav was not picked 2010, he would have never known where he has to work and improve which he did. He has become a good bowler and now, it is all about patience which makes difference of an average bowler and in a good to great bowler like McGrath who biggest strength was his patience and most Indian fast bowlers used to lack that right now apart from Zak, but Zak to was like this in first 4-5 years of his career. Persistence and patience should be the key bowling coach should advise these bowlers.

^@ rkt, I have been making the same point here before which you are saying that it does not matter if a talented bowler has taken lesser wickets in domestic cricket. You got to recognize the talent then groom them for future. Even if Vinay Kumar or Deepak Chahar are taking most number of wickets, but I don't see much future in them. Exactly the same point which you were making. I just want Rahul to spend time in domestic and bowl lots of overs and improve his work-ethics. I don't care if he picks reasonable no of wickets or not but surely I will be keeping an eye on his bowling standards. But your other point that we need to include them in Indian team whether or not we play them, but atleast we can inspire or groom them. Sorry, but I don't agree. I have a couple of reasons for that. 1. I am in favor of a 15 men squad out of which every player can be picked any-time if team needs. We just cannot have useless players in main 15-16 men squad. Yes, apart from main squad, we can pick couple of players who can be net bowlers or batsmen. BCCI has lots of money. They can definitely afford that. 2. If a bowler today has the ability to bowl 140 k and we include him in team. Then his future benchmark to come-back in the team will become that only. Just like Irfan or Parthiv. I mean, I want them to increase their hunger and try and bowl 150 k. So that, their benchmark will be 150 instead of 140. And now Varun Aaron has set the example that you can bowl 150 in domestics as well.
