G_B_ Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 and what if what ganguly says does not happen (not that i am doubting him?) Questions have to be raised, did zee pay him to make those comments? Is he trying to big up a fellow team mate from the bengal ranji team? “The physio is working on him. He's been advised rest up to Tuesday by the doctor. He's working on strength training and his condition is improving,” said India’s media manager GS Walia. He added that there was no question of a calling up a cover for the pacer as he is on the mend and will be fit ahead of the first Test of the series. Although he didn’t bowl on Sunday, Ishant did take part in a few light fielding drills and later played the football match with the rest of the squad. However, even that was very much light-hearted practice as Ishant stood as the goalkeeper — moving little and ducking and getting out of the way every time the ball was hit in his direction. Karnataka pacer Vinay Kumar, who could make his debut at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on December 26 if Ishant fails to recover, was confident of stepping into his shoes. “I don’t think there’s pressure on me, my job is to go out there and play to my strengths. My strength is bowling wicket to wicket, and try to stick to the basics,” said Kumar, who had come in as a replacement for injured Varun Aaron. http://www.hindustantimes.com/Cricket/CricketNews/Ishant-has-a-field-day-but-keeps-onlookers-guessing/Article1-784144.aspx
zep1706 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I don't understand this, even if Ishant is out for one test match, why do they need to send a replacement. The other bowlers are there in the squad for a reason. A replacement is needed if Ishant is completely out of the series.
Trundler27 Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 is gangu using ranji stats from this year while making this claim?? if so, then I see TP Sudhindra as the best Indian pace bowler at the moment (5 games 34 wkts). I don't mind Dinda being picked if he was a replacement for someone like Aaron.... but they replaced aaron with vinay ko-maar... similarly, they replaced Pk with mithoon... wtf Now with all this uncertainty, Australia are slightly ahead as favourites (60-40) IMO.

Old guy Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 :two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up: whats his average speed? I have seen him bowl even 90mph in the ipl.
