saneindian Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Watch the Sydney 2008 video with Shastri, Harsha and SMG talking about availablity of technology and using it to make correct decisions...and to see we are back to the on field umpires. All that talk of 2008 sounds so hypocritical now. There obviously be mistakes made by the umpires and this time we will have no one but ourselves to blame.

Old guy Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 drs w/o any hawk eye, hot spot..just replays should be used they should allow use of hawkeye till point of impact but after that its no good hope bcci in future allow this version of drs cos only this one makes sense and has no real flaws

Didn't have much luck with that, and afterwards BCCI turned their backs towards the system. So don't expect them to accept it again.

In 2008, the outrage was justified; but after their pathetic stand against DRS it just looks like it was whining and moaning as they don't even want to accept technology when the rest of the world is happy to use it. If we get screwed over by the umpires and lose yet another series in Australia as a result, I will have zero sympathy for the players or BCCI.

All of us saw it, when the off-field umpire was also overturning the technology. If technology is used then technolgy should over-ride both the on-field and off-field umpires..you cannot have a case by case interpretation by the umpires. If anyway umpires are going to overturn technology based decisions, why use technology at all?

Utter brute of a delivery from Zaheer, bounded up from a length and snorted past Hussey who was on the hop trying to get out of harm's way. He did, too. The ball brushed his sleeve on the way to Dhoni. India went up in appeal, so did Erasmus' finger
