whining fest will start now...will be even worse when when one of our guys got out wrongly... :banghead:
This all could have been avoided with DRS.. *sigh* although I better India are loving it atm haha

Zaheer to Haddin, no run, good length delivery on the middle stump, Haddin looks to drive and is hit on the pads. It pitched in line and would have crashed into the stumps. Haddin showed his bat to the umpire, but the replays did not indicate any such deflection. Umpire Erasmus doesn't agree with Zak

From CI

Khan to Haddin, no run, pitched up on the stumps, appeal for lbw and it is turned down. First impression - pitched outside leg. Good length, drew Haddin forward and rapped the pad as he fell over. Ok, I was wrong - that pitched in line according to HawkEye. DRS would have given Zaheer the wicket. Deal with it, India.

Haddin LBW looked out.given not out.so evens out
Well obviously India are going to have some which go against them too. DRS just makes more sense because it ensures the result is fair. They don't always even out. I'm sure India would have liked to have the DRS in their last tour of Aus.

Rarely. If the DRS had been in place in this match Cowan would not have been out, Hussey would not of been out and Haddin would have been out. DRS- 3 Umpires- 0

not sure if Cowan would've gone for review,or Indian against Haddin.tey may well have wasted it by then who knows.tuff to say like that

not sure if Cowan would've gone for review' date='or Indian against Haddin.tey may well have wasted it by then who knows.tuff to say like that[/quote'] Cowan definately would of because he said after the game he wasn't out. India may have wasted their appeals though :P So have India decided against it for the whole series or just that match? I really hope they change it for the 2nd game onwards.. It sucks watching a game knowing the umpire can make massive blunders.. and nothing can be done to change it.. Unfortunate for Hussey because it could end his career, with Watto due back for the 2nd test, he will move down to 6 one would imagine. Unless he takes Marsh's spot.

There are two different viewpoints expressed while by people who are criticising BCCI's stand on drs 1) that BCCI's opposition to DRS leads to umpiring errors not being corrected - This is quite justified 2) The second is that not using DRS somehow leads to an advantage for India as umpires give more wrong decisions in favour of India. This couldnt be more wrong as wrong decisions tend to even out most of the time and even when it doesnt, the balance usually goes against India

IMHO.. DRS' main objective is to avoid howlers. But problem arises when teams try to use it for 50-50 or very marginal decisions. By doing so they really test limits of technology which at times fail. If DRS is invoked only in case of howlers, DRS would come clean every single time. But then problem would be how to define howler? In today's match I think Hussey's was a howler, Cowan's not (umpire gave him out as soon as Indians jumped to appeal). Haven't seen Haddin one. But I really don't like Hawk Eye being used for predictive path. But higher percentage of fair decisions is guaranteed if everybody goes for DRS. Hope it doesn't come to bite india back.

those who say that DRS will help to make neutral decisions are totally wrong..in 2008 series ind-sl..it was all there to see...and umpires are bound to make mistakes..even technology is not fool proof

Overall I feel sorry for Hussey. He is fighting for his spot in team but "didn't get" to bat.
surely selectors will consider that n not just look at the score
