Give Dinda a run and then judge him. Any player can have a poor match, and no Indian bowler is in blazing form anyway. All of them get carted around all the time in every match.

dinda did bowl poorly , but the fact of the matter is pk is still the worst bowler in this squad, still feel the bowling attack is worse ever, but my 3 pacers would be irfan,vk,dinda with rahul nd ashwin the spinners, jaddu should be fecking out

Dinda is 27, by now regardless of how much international cricket he has played, he should have known which length to bowl during the death overs, and for crying out loud he has played 4 seasons of IPL. Irfan is no different, but I genuinely believe dew effecting his grip (and PK). Both him and PK rely on particular grip to swing the ball and dew makes it all that much harder. But having said, they should have been more intelligent enough to grip the ball more conventionally to get some sanity back and stop bowling full toss after full toss. But intelligence is something that doesn't come naturally to Indian bowlers.

Dinda had chances against Zimboks and on his comeback he played B'desh when he had the luxury of defending a decent total. I am sorry but if you can't perform against the likes of B'desh and Zimboks you don't deserve to be in the team. Plus he's no spring chicken and he hasn't shown anything in his bowling. He's just another 120-130 kph trundler with no variety whatsoever, and he doesn't even have the brains to not bowl length balls during power plays or even the discipline not to bowl no-balls. Surely he has no future with Team India and it's time we stop picking these kind of jokers in the team.

He looked totally unthreatening. Speed is not really everything as Watson even if he bowling in 120s actually looks much more threatening than Dinda. Dinda had chances against Zimboks and B'desh - how easier can it be for him? He hasn't improved at all since the ZIM series and it's clear he's not intl class.

Yadav was hammered even more by zimbabwe,Look where he is now .Dinda performance has been in ranji trophy so i would have preferred to give him a break in tests and but if selectors want to test him in odis then give him a series then we will see.To be fair to dinda ,Bangla batsman have hammered aussie attack for 290 on the same pitch few years back.batting second in bangladesh is easier.

If he had performed the same way he did against Zim, he wouldn't have been persisted with. tell me one area of improvement in Dinda since the Zim series coz I can't see one.

Yeah he didn't look great but it's unfair to club the matches vs Zim and this game together. This was his first game after his comeback. So he has got only 1 game. I don't have a problem with leaving him out of the 11 for the next game because we need to win but he should be in the squad for the next series and given a fair chance. If you keep dropping chaps after 1 game, you won't find anyone. We don't have great tailunt in the bowlng department as it is.

Agree with this. He Still reeks of Bengal's answer to Abhimanyu Mithun, but someone without the Zimbok thing on their CV would be getting a longer rope on here

Dinda didn't really show any hint of promise, like the likes Munaf, Yadav, Varun did on their debuts. Let's be honest, even in his first three overs the batsmen were middling him but only found the fielders. It's funny people here claim he bowled 135km plus, in the entire he struggled to go above 130km/hr, and pitch doesn't make a difference in measuring pace.

@OP Hari paaji, Irfan Pathan is a very valuable player for our team. And one and only genuine all-rounder who plays like a proper batsman and at the same time can hit big shots. I am surprised, you didn't mention Jadeja's name in the thread title?

When a batsmen is set on a flat deck, there are few bowlers who can make some impact. Dhoni gave him 2 overs early on, he bowled well and then was removed and Dhoni brought on Raina and Rohit so that their batsmen can set their eyes. Why not he continued his spell. No bowler will be bowling well these start stop spells. Every one goes for runs in PP and slog overs whether it is Malinga. Important is to take wickets early and if he was bowled earlier more when BD were 39/1 in 10 overs rather than bowling Raina and Rohit, he might have been more effective than what he was and could have taken a wicket or two. Firstly I do not even understand bowling Raina and Rohit when opposition batsmen are under pressure, scoring less than 3 RPO and you bring part timers to given them easy runs, at least brings Jaddu who is playing as a bowler and can be more effective than part timers and if he is not effective why he is even playing at first place.
