It is simply rejection of belief that deities exist - and I guess for anything that is based on 'belief'.. if one can provide evidence, then it is acceptable. I also had similar doubts some time back, but then when I read - I was convinced. The discription of the events are exaggerated by the poets or writers of that era. Later these events were literally translated in many languages. To make things worse, the idiots who made the TV shows on these scripts literally showed Hanuman picking up a mountain. I will give you an example. The other day my mom asked me to buy vegetable oil on my way home from work. I didn't know how much to get and my phone had died. I got a 20 liters jug of oil (my mom usually gets these when on deal from Sam's Club). She laughed when I got home. - True story When they say, Hanuman picked up a mountain, he literally didn't pick up a whole mountain but just got more of the herbs than needed. It also conveys the physical strength of Hanuman. ^ what makes you think that these notions can not happen in real life? I wish I could set a laxman rekha where someone enters and gets busted, good luck if you really think this is possible in real life

We have our ways of "drawing the laxman rekha". They had theirs. Think about the concept, not the literal meaning of it. We do have our "Laxman rekha's" available with the kind of technology we have. For example, at a convenience store, if someone tries to break in, the doors lock on their own, the Police gets informed instantly and the owner gets informed instantly. Most of the times, these guys get busted. :two_thumbs_up: ps - my friend had a break in at his store on new years eve. The guys got busted within half hour.

For this discussion - god cud be defined as omnibelovent, omniscient, omnipresent, supremely powerful being. As an atheist, for me it would take something really big like god comes down and parts bay of bengal and verified by established scientists that it is not a magic trick)..I don't quite agree with that definition in fact I doubt there will be even one more individual on this planet who would agree with that definition of what is god. Even though religions define god, say for ex Catholicism's version of god, I doubt if Pope would believe that exact version defined somewhere in some book. God is defined and believed to be what has been defined, by the definer. So each individual's version of God is unique I do not believe god is a separate thing...in a way I dont believe that a thingy called god exists. I just believe in consciousness and that the creator and its creation are inseparable. The Creator = Its Creation. They are the same...there is no fella out there who is separate from us that is watching us or directing us.

That is ludicrous at best. I believe in happiness. I follow a religion to follow a path that would lead me to better things in life. Religions are strict and the rules made by men in the name of religion are rigid and uncalled for. All religions should lead to the same goal, live an exemplary life.

I think, spiritiuality helps people to look within themselves and correct what is wrong rather than go after other people. For me, my religious background helps me become more spiritual and ask questions that sometimes challenge my own beliefs. But everytime I have had that experience, I have come out with more in depth understanding of my religious beliefs.

Belief is just belief...you believe because you think that is the truth. Belief without evidence is called faith. Knowing something and believing something are two different things. That is why I always say that reality is what you believe it to be. This universe, how it came to exist, everything else is each one's own belief and I don't think there is any one true fact about it. There are theories but no absolute facts.
