End of Laxman?

Both Dravid and Laxman are already on decline and on top of it they are batting out of position in some ways. Dravid has literally been an opener in all 3 innings and Laxy has been coming in when we were 3 or 4 down for next to nothing. Even at their respective peaks, they'd prefer not to bat in such situations. But who the hell is going to replace these guys ? I'd play these guys until they are 50.

And lose every test pathetically like we are doing now? Great logic  Heck these great batsmen even collapsed twice against west indies. But it doesnt matter. We should never drop them and give youngsters any chance because we need hero worshiping. Its beyond daft to even suggest we have no replacement when there are guys averaging 60's domestic cricket and not even given a proper chance.

I remember it was at the start of 2011 when people were calling him our greatest player under pressure etc and now just because he has failed in a few series'' date=' those same people are calling for him to retire. Girgit kahin ke :finger:[/quote'] He was good in home conditions. Now his reflexes have slowed down considerably and he is not good enough on these fast bouncy tracks. I just hope he retires knowing his time is over.

lax is a solid player but he has been worked out by the aussies. they did their homework on him, very well set fields and good lines. the wicket today was a result of planning - they saw what happened to him in england when the ball was pitched up and swinging away. they cut off his scoring areas. its gonna be hard for him to come back into the series. if he cant score at the SCG, his fav ground outside india, then there is little hope

Dude I've been saying it for ages now. The three must retire gradually and with grace lest they be forced to retire. Time is ripe for Laxman to call it quits. Dravid and Tendulkar must follow suit by the end of year, 100th 100 or not.

None of the pak players are as fit as Dravid and sachin.

it is most surely time to blood a new test batting line-up..... since the next 2 yrs entirely include test matches in the subcontinent for India, this tour should be the swansong for at least 2 of the 3 legends and within 2012 we should have the middle-order for the next decade in place.

Oh' date=' so now we have to kick players out because they are "old" :cantstop:[/quote'] You don't understand. do u? I am asking for laxman to retire because he is extremely unfit and has less chances to survive with slow reflexes. Whereas dravid and sachin are the fittest players in indian team and they can play for another 2 to 3 years.

Laxman never was the fittest player and was always a slow runner between the wickets so why have you started noticing it only now?

^^^Well, Any unfit player can manage upto 35 to 37 max. But if he is unfit and his reflexes are slow than he should retire before people question his place in the team. Even gilchrist retired at an early age with respect where he could have carried to play for another couple of years easily.
