Cricketics Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I think it's high time to comeback into the series. Zaheer has given his all and given us a decent start. Australia have a great chance to bat out India out of the match and the series tonight if they bat all day today. India need to fire with some wickets and bowl the aussies out early. I think Dhoni needs to make some changes and actually plenty and make sure our pacers don't tire out easily .They need to bowl a lot today(hopefully not much). It's time to stage a comeback. 116-3 these Aussies. still about an hour and a half away they are to get any lead. Let's make it happen. Get them early and post a big big score which we haven't in past so many days.. COME ON. let's get behind the team. NOTHING IS LOST. Everything to play for.

Cricket Tragic Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 A lead? I'd be delighted if we can bowl them out for around 250.

Ultimate_Game Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Forget about a lead we would do well to keep Aus under 300. My optimism has fallen away over the course of Eng and Aus series and I don't think we are a good team anymore. This team is over the hill and has a sense of entitlement. It's time to blow up the team and start afresh.

saneindian Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 116/3 could easily become 160/7 in the first session. We have already seen this happen in the innings played in this series, wickets have fallen in clusters. Even if a side is bowling badly, there is enough in the pitch to produce the wicket taking balls here and there. With some consistency and choking the runs, we will put them under pressure. Yadav and Ishant cannot have an off day again. Bowl to one side of the wicket, set the field accordingly and reap the rewards.
Ram Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Well, if you ignore the fact that it is almost certain that one of the two of Punter or Pup are going to score a 100 and the Aussies are going to score 400, the only way out of this mess for us is to see if we can bowl them out for 230 – 240 or less. That would leave with our around 40-45 overs to bat in the day, after we should ideally be around 130-140 for the loss of 2 wickets at the maximum, giving us an overall lead of 80-90 runs. However, irrespective of how irritating it can be, reality cannot be ignored. Aussies are almost certain to score 375 – 420 in their first innings. If we’re lucky they will probably bat for the entire day. If not, they will probably give us 8-10 overs to negotiate when we may end up losing 1 or 2 wickets.
Ultimate_Game Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 if against England i should also have felt same... But this OZ team have recent history of collapse once in every Test :winky: Our bowlers are not good enough. They are good enough to get a few wkts here and there but not so good to force a collapse. The problem is that our bowlers can't bowl consistent line and length to put pressure on the batsmen - a pre-requisite to inducing a collapse. Every over has a "hit me" delivery and you never see all the bowlers bowl well in a tandem the way Eng or Aus pace attack does.

Again i am telling its Nothing to do with our Bowling...OZ can/will collapse... do you really think they Bowled out for 47 against SA purely Becuase of Bowling and Condition?
cowboysfan Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Some members of the team have given up,the management seems unwilling to move on..

You do require lot of luck to bowl a team so cheap or for the team to collapse but you have to at least keep the ball in the right areas. If we continue bowling short or down the leg side how are we going to get wkts? Our bowlers need to bowl much better to have any chance. The Saffers bowled on or around off and let Aussies make the mistakes and you won't see any loosener from them, but we specialize in gifting a 4 ball every over.
