There is no upside in carrying any of the three except individual stats boosting at home. England was his 1st bad series for ages. Before the 3rd test, he averages 50+ in this series and had looked like our best batsman by some distance.

It will only delay the debut and adjustment of the replacements. What knowledge will he impart in 1 or 2 series? First is to give a respectable send off to the players in a domestic series. Yeah that is the right thing to do. I don't equate the game just with "runs" scored. Secondly, the presence of seniors does groom youngsters who look up for guidance in different ways, in the nets and during the match. Yesterday, I saw Akram give tips to Starc, and this is what he had to say: The Pakistan legend had taken time off from his commentary schedule to give a few tips on wrist positions to the youngster in the Sydney nets. It paid off for Starc, who had Tendulkar playing down the wrong line. Starc acknowledged Akram's role during his interaction with the media. "I had the chance to catch up with him for half an hour in Sydney," Starc said. "The main thing I had the chance to talk to him about was swinging the ball consistently and a bit of wrist position. "It was only a brief chat and hopefully I can catch up with him sometime soon again, because he was a genius at what he did. It's not going to harm me if I can chat with him about those things. The above example is just one instance how interactions with seniors can lift up a youngster and boost their confidence. In a similar way, I am sure Tendulkar will have something to offer to the young bunch over a course of couple series, at least.

Sure, it's tougher to score when everyone else is failing but it's possible and Tendulkar at the top of his game has done it as well. An Argus review is simply a pipe dream. The first thing any review committee is going to say is that the likes of Srinivasan and Srikkanth should be sacked and the BCCI knows it so will never set up anything like it. Thats my worry. There is no accountability. There is no consistency in selection, no plan put into place and nobody will have to pay for failures (except players) The players can be blamed for their failures, but if the board doesn't allow players to get the right training required, such as playing abroad and using MRF instead of NCA things won't change.

Yeh tips help here and there, but there is a lot more they need to do. When IPL was started, we thought these nobodies sharing dressing rooms with legends will come out of it a lot better. What happened to all these bowlers who got to spend time with McGrath, Steyn, etc.?

We have to play Rohit and Ajinkye in Adelaide test keeping future in mind. It'd be extremely stupid if we still keep playing them. For me, even Sachin needs 2 be rested from the Adelaide test, which will be an absolute dead test with no importance at all. But we don't have any extra batsman. Or either we can go with this team combination, Viru, Gambhir, Rahul, Virat, Rohit, Ajinkye, Saha(coz Dhoni is banned), Ashwin, Zaheer, Ishant and Umesh

There will be some away tours like Asia cup and Sri Lanka series and then we will be hosting Australia and England at home and after that next year we will touring New Zealand and Zimbabwe. Our main series will be starting late 2013, when we will start touring England, Australia and SA again
