retterimp Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 in recent times, sachin the run accumulator has only reduced defeat margins, so i would say sachin or no sachin, doesn't make a difference, we still aren't going to win. i'm not faulting sachin(heck who am i, he's already done more than 99% of the population), but rather his annoying fans who think he's god. please cut this nonsense already!

He has already reached that landmark in reality, because he did score a 100 in the Lady Diana memorial match MCC vs. World XI at Lords. Surely that was an "international" as it had international players playing? And what about the 200 he scored for Mumbai vs. Australia? Or are we deliberately restricting it to test cricket and ODIs only, just so the excitement and suspense can last longer and the broadcasters of the "Agneepath" series can continue to prosper? Btw, does anyone know who has the next highest number of "international" hundreds? I don't, because I don't really care

He cannot go out and bat in place of other batsmen or bowl in place of the other bowlers of the team. What he can do is bat well and make lots of runs and that he usually does.

b555 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Its not the number that mattered for me But i still wanted him to get a hundred, may be because i feel that way everytime he has batted for the past decade and half when i actually started seeing the gae only because of him may be i wanted him to score a 100 because then i would get a chance to watch him bat for more time then anything less than 100 may be i wanted him to score a 100 becase it would add some runs tot he team total and may be inspire some batsman down the order to perform much better and atleast make a more dveoted attempt to save the match may be....

In both Melbourne (1st inn) and Sydney (2nd inn) he got out just before new ball when he was in the 80's exposing our lower middle order which led to the collapse.In melbourne it was even worse as he got out to the last over of the day. As a senior batsman its his (and Dravid and Laxman in Melbourne and Sydney respectively) to see of the 2nd new ball particularly when u are set.He let down the team badly. So even if he is the leading scorer he is one of the key reasons for our collapse and get the blame too.

Today, Sachin and Laxman were looking settled and looking good to clear the lead and infact take the lead of 100 odd extra runs. Yes, I know our middle order failed against second new ball but this collapse was started by Sachin, when he got out playing a nervous shot approaching near his century

1983-2011 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 seriously man i felt he was going to get it today but unfortunately got out, a person who has been playing international cricket for over 23 years, be a leading run scorer in both formats of the game and has scored 99 tons cannot be mentally weak. if he doesnt score it in the next two tests then i think he will definitely get it in the tri series and probably in a match against Sri Lanka:pray:

Sorry when u are the set batsman batting u need to take responsibilities at certain times when batting.Its hardly the ball of the century and neither was it hardly delivered by Mcgrath or Marshall. If we want use excuses we can use that for every batsmen.But they are failing us in every test particularly senior batsmen.I am not blaming Sachin alone all of our seniors (Sachin Laxman Dravid and Sehwag) shoulder the primary blame for our repeated collapses again and again in last 8 tests including west Indies at home.
