Crookbond Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It seems they had to reduce the qualification criteria for the discuss throw events for the finals ?
Mariyam Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Man seriously boxing should be banned from Olympics. or the rules should be changed as in' date=' the person needs to smack the hell outta opposition and the opposition should quit[/quote'] I can understand your anger. I too, was woken up by the sound of the TV at around 3 am for this match  From what I saw, I gather that the two boxers bashed each other mercilessly and the scoring system had nothing to do with it. I think the judge called his 2 year old grandson and asked him to pick numbered chits from 1-10 for each of the boxers from a bowl. Then they beat the hell out of each other mercilessly yet again, and then were scored once again on the basis of these numbered chits. Unfortunately for us, Vijender's opponent had all the luck and got the higher numbers.
varun Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 It seems they had to reduce the qualification criteria for the discuss throw events for the finals ? They need at least 12 people for the final. Above 65 is automatic qualification (Q). If there are less than 12 people above 65, then top of the remaining people are chosen (q)
varun Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Ranjith Maheshwary has fouled 2 out of his 3 attempts at the triple jump. One attempt to go. Massive fail so far.
