We need a captain who sets agressive fields like Micheal Clarke. Dhonis tactics work in ODIs but not tests. Kohlis attitude is not that of a captain. Maybe one of the other yougsters who will come through could be captain.

We want an aggressive captain like Virat who hates losing. I hope he continues with this same attitude which has taken so far in International Cricket. Hopefully He is now settled into this test side and no-one will bark over his place in test side now. So, I'd say make him Vice-captain first in few home test matches this year then next year, you can announce him as a captain. Coz from 2013 end, we will again be touring abroad and then we will have Virat as a captain with some experience behind I love his attitude :two_thumbs_up: He likes to give it back to the opposition.

It's just one good Test following 5 miserable overseas Tests. We'll hype him to no end after one performance and make him an utter failure after a series. Let him find his feet first in Test cricket, and then we should talk. If he fails in Adelaide, he will end up at one fifty from eight innings.

Just imagine, if our batsmen had played upto their reputation and there was stability in our batting line up, then the difference you would have seen in Virat batting too. Then, he would not have taken so much time to get settled. The thing is, everything is all messed up in our batting line up on this tour and thats reflects on a youngster performance too. Also remember, Virat has done extremely well in ODIs and he already has 8 centuries to his credit. He has scored centuries in India, Sri-lanka, England and West-Indies. So, he is well and truly aware of the international standards. I too don't feel, that he should be made captain immediately but first he shud be appointed as a vice-captain and then the next captain.

We do need an aggressive captain who sets aggressive fields, sledging on the field is fine. But Virat is not yet disciplined enough, reacting to the fans showed that.

Completely agree.... I have no doubt in my mind that if our other batsmen and our tail would showed a lil bit more resistance and not bundled out in that one over of Hilfenhaus or if Dhoni could have hanged, then Kohli would have surely got to his century. After Dravid got out, rest just followed the mantra 'tu chal main aya'

I appreciate the fact that Kohli showed resolve and hunger in the 3rd Test. I am not really going by numbers here, but I do think that he'll still take some time to do well in Tests overseas. Though he has a good average in ODIs and has scored more centuries than anyone else in his first 70 ODIs, I still think he lacks the kind of consistency I'd want him to have. And, he should not even be made vice-captain till he sorts out his attitiude.

see imo he should never be made captain but after this match from looks of it he will do fine outside subcontinent this was supposed o be his biggest test cos people doubted wht he will do on quick tracks moving ball was not a big problem as we saw in south africa odis... i jsut hope rohit plays in adelaide and scores runs and kohli gets a hundred would be perfect end to the humiliation bowling wise we are set with zaheer, yadav , ashwn ishant really disappointed me :((
