The only thing we guys can do is to rant on the internet forums. A few of us not watching IPL is not going to make it a failure But the market forces will hit hard and that will force BCCI to take some tough decisions. if the team keeps losing, TV viewerships will fall, ad revenues will come down, broadcasting rights rates will come down and sponsors will start backing out. Once that happens, both BCCI and the players will wake up, because they all understand the language of money.

OP... agree with your general intentions but this is a country where we cannot even get a LOKPAL because the thugs guard the gates.

I know what you are saying Zelch' date=' but the thugs cannot stand up to a massive protest by us the people who actually love the country.[/quote'] Since you live in Ausstralia... the best thing you can do is gather a group of friends/fans at the Adelaide Test or at one of the ODI venues and make a huge poster saying "BCCI dont kill Indian Cricket " or something like that and hope for it to be shown on live TV... or if you know a diehard...crazy fan....ask him to run on the pitch...that will definitely get the message across to the media.:--D

Cheer up man. Things can only get better from here (After Adelaide I mean). And watch IPL if u want to impress the girls. None of them give a damn for Test cricket.

I care and so do a lot of other people, ODI's, T20 are nothing, Test cricket is the gold standard this is the reason we will never be any good. Australia, SA, England, NZ etc all take Test matches seriously we are a joke, a laughing stock.
And still they suck BIGTIME in the subcontinent, when they get smashed and humiliated in most occasions. What good is obsessing about Test cricket where every seemingly dominant country is only good at home conditions.

Yes Australia has won more series in India than India has won in Australia, this is the sad fact we are happy to beat teams on our dust bowls and think we are so great, but we set foot outside the SC and we get murdered.

Indian cricket will, rise again, they have too many people and love the sport to much to not be among the power houses of world cricket. Yes it must hurt You guys right now ,but just think if you won a single test in Australia ,then the whole nation would be happy and the team would have stayed the same. It is really a blessing in disguise for India to be belted in this series,as it will now force the selectors hand. And with it I expect to

I still think this performance is due to lack of leadership from Dhoni. This team is decent and could have run the aussie team close if they were motivated to perform. Its true that world cup, IPL millions and too much cricket contributed to this fiasco but all this is normal for a modern day cricketer. BCCI+IPL will come into picture may be after two seasons from now when we have to select cowlashers like Tiwary, Pandey, Yousuf pathan etc for England/Australia series..

First and foremost they must kick out these politicians and bring in more former cricketers. I'm sick of hearing Board members say they will prepare more bouncy pitches in India every time we get humiliated overseas but nothing is ever done about it. Next they must ban core players from the national team from playing in the IPL or any other league, it's either one or the other.

prash' date=' great post mate, I will love something like this to gain momentum, we are the young India and we need to make our own mark on this country. Even though I live in Australia and love Australia I am still Indian and it[b'] hurts my heart and soul to see the way these corrupt have and are destroying my country.

Neutral Cat, that's quite a passionate OP!!! My only grouse with your post is that you are somehow tying corruption in cricket to the destruction of the country?? Cricket shouldn't be the barometer to measure the highs and lows of Indian society, IMO. And is our current cricket debacle due to corruption in the BCCI? I'm not so sure. Not denying that the BCCI are corrupt to the core, but under this same corrupt management we won a WC last year and reached #1 in tests. Surely, there must be something right that they did. I think we take Test cricket seriously too. Just that, in the last few months, we haven't been good enough to compete with the best (and not so best too!!).

 Really? :haha: That is sweet though.:icflove:

Do you think Sharad Pawar/ Srinivasan really care how the curators prepare a pitch? Answer me this: Why would a corrupt politico who heads the BCCI want to see the Indian team perform badly? He would obviously want a good performance, so that there is sustained interest in the game. For him, its a cash cow/golden goose or call it what you may. I'm not a fan of politicos running cricket, far from it. But this whole 'sack politicos and our batsmen will start scoring again, our bowlers will start taking wickets again' line of arguement is very weak. The problems facing our team now haven't come overnight. The writing was on the wall for a long time. We chose not to see it. The solutions will be gradual too. Every issue doesn't have a quick fix.
Next they must ban core players from the national team from playing in the IPL or any other league' date=' it's either one or the other.[/quote'] Intuitively speaking, such a move would fail. I support MI. Would I go watch a match that doesn't involve Bhajji, Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Munaf, and instead we play with Dhaval Kulkarni and 3 other relatively unknown players? Definitely, the primary attraction of the IPL are the home grown superstars. If they have such a draconian diktat, I suspect our main players would be tempted to quit playing tests and ODIs altogether. Especially the veterans.
