I agree with you Lurker,Women have a better shot at sporting glory in India because they emerge out of a fiercely patriarchial society where they have to fight every step of the way for every small thing thay they desire.The 4 x 400 mtrs relay at the Commonwealth games still gives me goosebumps. On a related note,I read through the interview with Anuradha. Shes intelligent,funny,sarcastic and driven..All in all, THE Perfect Woman.

That is definitely true. Plus physically Indian women can hold their own against their counterparts. You are right about the 4 x 400 mtrs relay. If you were a fan of Asian Games of yesteryears you would also perhaps remember the exploits of PT Usha. I had a bigger orgasm when PT Usha beat Lydia De Vega (De Vega beat her later at Asiad) than I have had watching Dhoni's helicopter shot. On a related note,I read through the interview with Anuradha. Knows what to speak how and when and also had the subtle sense of humor that is possible only if you are well informed and knowledgeable about various things In spite of the typical sambhar superiority that you could detect lurking in her personality she seemed humble, lol!
