Terrific performances by Anustup Majumdar in back-to-back matches. 100s at No.6 helping the team take the first inings lead. And Necheim just got Pujara. West Zone effectively 39/3 with about 105 overs remaining in the match. Let's see whether Suryakumar Yadav can pull of something extraordinary.

see there bowling helped them... i want this attack to bowl for india :D
West Zone's batting can be a future India line-up too. Pujara, Rayudu, Suryakumar Yadav, Abhishek Nayar ... EZ missed Tiwary and WZ missed Rahane. But the way the nondescript batters of EZ scored more than the stars of WZ is something praiseworthy.

The thread shows this to be a 5 day match' date=' but BCCI website says it is a 4 day match. I think it is a 4 day match. Can someone clarify?[/quote'] Haha ... doesn't matter any more. Necheim just took out Suryakumar Yadav. He is 30/3 presently. Tomorrow morning Dinda will now comfortably wrap up the tail. On topic ... Should be a 4-day match only.

Rayudu 26 runs 33 balls 3 fours 1 six.. was he playing another T20 innings?
Didn't have much of an option. EZ had taken the first innings lead and there were some 100 odd overs left in the game. The only option was to score runs quickly so that they get a decent score and ask EZ to bat tomorrow hoping to bowl them out. Perfectly valid innings!

East in control after Majumdar ton Anustup Majumdar made an unbeaten hundred to give East Zone the first-innings lead and the visitors then claimed five wickets in West Zone's second innings to take control of their Duleep Trophy quarter-final More... East Zone v West Zone, Duleep Trophy quarter-final, 3rd day East in control after Majumdar ton ESPNcricinfo staff January 29, 2012 West Zone 314 and 131 for 5 (Nechim 3-31) lead East Zone 343 (Behera 130, Majumdar 102*, Fallah 3-53) by 102 runs Scorecard Anustup Majumdar made an unbeaten hundred to give East Zone the first-innings lead and the visitors then claimed five wickets in West Zone's second innings to take control of their Duleep Trophy quarter-final in Valsad. East had begun on 183 for 4 in pursuit of West's 314 and soon lost the wicket of Shreevats Goswami to Samad Fallah. Natraj Behera and Majumdar steadied East with a partnership of 54 before Behera was bowled for 130 by Sandip Maniar. Though Shahbaz Nadeem departed quickly, Basant Mohanty hung around for 57 deliveries as Majumdar took East past 314. West got rid of the tail eventually to end the innings on 343. Majumdar finished on 102 off 147 deliveries. West lost Harshad Khadiwale to Mohanty before Rohit Motwani and Ambati Rayudu helped them recover to 55 for 1. Mohanty struck again to have Rayudu caught behind and Abu Nechim grabbed three more to leave West tottering at 111 for 5. Nechim bowled Cheteshwar Pujara for 2 and then removed Motwani. Suryakumar Yadav, who had made 134 in the first innings, stroked his way to 34 off 30 deliveries before Nechim had him caught by Ishank Jaggi. Kaustubh Pawar and Abhishek Nayar were the last pair of specialist batsmen at the crease for West. The winner of this game will go through to meet North Zone in the semi-final.

Not really. Does some shabby part-time wicketkeeping. Motwani is the keeper of the team. Rayudu used to be 'The Next Big Thing' some 6/7 years ago.
shabby i hate that word :hysterical: and don know much abt him i guess they really missed rahane he provides stability and consistency
