South Africa would probably smash them by an innings in any test at any ground. Australia are in the process of destroying India 4-0. Australia made just over 600 against India's poor bowling attack, the same Australia that got bowled out for 47 against South Africa and the same Australia that lowly New Zealand beat in one test. Pakistan have the best spinner in the world according to the rankings and bowled England out TWICE for under 200 on a flat deck. Something India couldn't do in their wildest dreams to England. Plus Pakistan have totalled over 300 already against England. So I'd say India are around 5th in the rankings. Srinivasan opened the conference with following comment "With India being the financial backbone of the game and generating nearly 80% of the cricket revenue it makes sense that India play in India to maximize the revenue generation. After all the time spent on an away series is time spent away from India where we could have generated more capital". Continued Srinivasan "Everyone knows that a business needs to rethink and come up with new ideas to continue being profitable and we think cutting down on inefficiences (away tours) and maximising synergies between cricket and the consumer base (Indian fans and sponsors) is the way to go." Pawar commented "We have given this decision a lot of thought and determined along with no DRS, doing away with Indian overseas tours is the way forward for world cricket". Pressed for reasoning behind the decision, Pawar refused to comment and redirected the queries to Shukla. Shukla jumped in helpfully "This is the next step in BCCI's long term objective of globalising cricket and making the game popular and in good health at home and across the world." Asked to elaborate the plan, Shukla continued "The first step as you all know was our masterstroke by losing to England and Australia. We noticed that the popularity of test cricket was falling in places like England and Australia and what better way to make it popular than the home team beating the World Champions and no. 1 test team in the world. These upset series wins by the home teams have given cricket a major shot in the arm in England and Australia, and we are confident that cricket is on its feet again in those two countries. After all world cricket needs a strong and healthy England and Australia. In fact phase 1 of the plan so successful that we don't even need to have any follow-up series anywhere else" Srikkanth who had taken the back seat for so long chimed in "We know that cricket fans all over the world and especially expat fans abroad may miss out on seeing our all-conquering team and cricket stars. So in order to cater to the demand we will have India A team tours in place of the India tours where the world will be able to see up and coming future talents like Srikkanth Aniruddh" Srinivasan added "Of course the A tours will happen in parallel with India's home matches to maximise profit by adding another revenue channel, but we will make sure these tours do not conflict with IPL, which will be a 5 month event from now on based on the demand from Indian public, sponsors and Ravi Shastri. We are already in talks with sponsors and are planning to add 4 more IPL franchises starting next year". Pawar after waking up from a nap added "It's not as if the Indian team will not play outside India at all. We will make sure a World Cup is held outside India every 12 years and we will have an IPL in South Africa once every 6 years. Plus we may organize some charity and exhibition games as well in North America. Also it goes without saying some matches will also be held in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh". When asked whether ICC is on board with the decision and what it might do to FTP, Pawar said "We have full backing of ICC and the board members just as we had on the issue of usage of DRS. As for FTP, we will honor our FTP commitments as soon as we host Bangladesh at home". When asked when it might happen Pawar responded "We are working on it and we have a 3 week window between IPL and odi series against SL in 2018. We may have the Bangladesh series then" Ex-players such as Bedi, Yograj Singh and Kambli have welcomed the decision. Said Bedi "This is the best news I have heard in a long time. Playing at home will be great for spin bowling". Yograj stated "With no away tours the world will be able to see the full potential of Yuvraj Singh at Test level". Kambli added "With extended IPL and more franchises I will make a comeback and continue to show the selectors how wrong they were in dropping me from the team in 96". The news was also greeted with delight from overseas, especially Pakistan. Despite being pathetic with the ball on this tour he cannot hold a candle to Dartbhajan's 75 runs conceded for a wicket taken in the similar conditions. I think it will take someone like you to roll up their sleeves and throw a few darts to match the wits of Darty. Anyway Ashwin will be 20 stone by next year, which will put his carre in jeapordy. Remarkable no one wants to condemn ashwins lack of proffesionalism in this reagrd and take him to task on this fatnessFolks like you that idolise thugs like Dartbhajan should not question other players professionalism. Besides if Ashwin fails and do not improve upon things he will be booted out unlike Darty who lived a charmed life despite his mediocrity for a long long time.
