The 24 year old, originally from Delhi and a former Delhi u-14, u-17 and u- 19 player is the highest scorer in Ranji trophy this season with 1034 runs in 10 matches at an average of 87 with 4 100s and 4 50s. Made a brilliant start to the domestic season with a 93 vs ROI in the Irani Trophy and ended the Ranji season with a fluent 92 in the Ranji final. His sequence of scores in the Ranji Trophy this year 47, 20, 82*, 167, 76, 100, 176, 22, 12, 127*, 12, 0, 44, 57, 92 One of the prime reasons why Rajasthan are the champions this year. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/262464.html Well done to Robin and here's hoping you continue to do well in the Duleep Trophy and beyond. On the 1000+ runs in a Ranji season landmark, Rahane did that in 2009-10. Not sure who the other 10 gents to achieve the feat are. Request to the mods- please do not merge this thread with the Ranji sticky thread for at least a couple of days. This unknown batsman deserves some attention from the ICFers.

It is all about where they play. They play in India and are used to these pitches and unless and unless they play or practice enough on those pitches, it will be harsh for us to expect too much. It is same of Aussies and English young batsmen as they mostly struggle on spin friendly pitches in India and once they play here they do well that is why proper India A tours to places in Australia, England, SA, and New Zealand are necessary to develop these guys. We should have these tours in a 2-year circle. We can have these tours even during our Ranji season as there will benefit more3 playing overseas rather than here where they always play. Selectors need to identify those 15-20 players between 18-28 years of age criteria with whom they want to persist and groom their talent for senior level. We cannot have a different India A team every time we go abroad. It may change in 2 year circle basis if some players do not live up to the expectations.

BUMP Now a 100 in the Duleep Trophy for Bist, 5th of the season. Batted brilliantly on a pitch that had variable bounce and where shot making wasn't that easy, though the bowling attack barring Mithun can at best be termed 'average'. Carries on the good form and with CZ making to the DT finals, will get another opportunity to add to his already enhancing reputation.

BUMP A 100 in the Irani Trophy for the highest run getter of last domestic season. It's an absolute travesty that he isn't playing in NZ for the A side right now. Definitely deserved a spot there.
