The Realist Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Ashwin, though, drew hope from the fact that things couldn't get far worse than they already are. "I think we have nothing to lose at this point of time," he said. "We are 3-0 down. I think it gives us a bit of license to be very carefree about it, and go out and play the natural game, which can be a real blessing in disguise for us. All that is important is to get those first 20-30 runs, and really stick it out. I think we'll have to try and look at those initial starts and capitalise on that." Ashwin said seniors in the side were of the view that the game could change pretty quickly if they competed with the bat in the first innings. "There are a few seniors in the team who have already told us about how the first innings pans out at the Adelaide Oval, and how good it is to bat on, on the first three days of the game, and then it really changes," Ashwin said. "We are confident, and we are going to try to pick up two early wickets tomorrow." Ashwin insisted, though, that they were not embarrassed by the performance in Australia. "Two teams play; one has to lose," he said. "It's fine. Nobody is embarrassed in the dressing room. Quite happy to keep coming out and keep trying again and again. Things will turn around some time. Nobody is embarrassed. Very sure about that." http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia-v-india-2011/content/current/story/550716.html So nice to know that everything is ok and there is no need to panic. The seniors believe things will change quickly - shame they cannot be bothered to attend the press conferences in person rather than send the junior players. Nobody is embarrassed
Alchemist Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Ashwin, with this performance, you should be. Unless, performance is measured in gift you bought while shopping.
J P K Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 i guessed right i was telling my friend today that again ashwin will be made bakara and sent to press conference again were is our new captain and seniors hiding now ?
Needforspeed Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 I think the Indian team management is really trolling the press and trying to divert attention from the team's performance. Otherwise why send this poor guy each time to face the press and make a fool of himself. Then everyone will get worked up by what Ashwin said, instead of commenting on how the team played.
akshayxyz Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 i guessed right i was telling my friend today that again ashwin will be made bakara and sent to press conference again were is our new captain and seniors hiding now ? well what would Sehwag have said - " Yadav gave too many runs, Ishant can't take wickets, Ashwin is lazy..its a 3 day match, we are having fun."
Ultimate_Game Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Of course you are not embarrassed. That is for us fans :banghead:
audioman Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Such a shame to hear that. I am starting to think all this nonsense from Ashwin and Gambhir has more and more to do with the cushion of the IPL. Or perhaps all the fire has died since winning the World Cup, which again, though, was at home.
Cricket Tragic Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 He's right about games changing in Adelaide though. It's like what you see often in India where the action starts on days 4 and 5.
vvvslaxman Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Ashwin speaks better than others. Just because of that they should not keep sending him to the press.
kabira Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 With 7-0 now what is there to be embarrassed. They must be embarrassed to be embarrassed
Old guy Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 now im embarrassed to call myself indian cricket fan :(( lose all u want i will still support but atleast show some frekaing hurt!
nballa Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 well that's a part of the problem. you should be.
Needforspeed Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Don't get worked up guys. Give him a break. What else do u expect him to say? 'That we are a crap team and we sucked big time in the field today'. Keep trolling Ashwin. Just 4 more (max ) days to go.

'That we are a crap team and we sucked big time in the field today'. Keep trolling Ashwin. Just 4 more (max ) days to go. At least some candor was in order. He could have said we didn't perform as we shoul dhave and let our fans/supporters down, and not "we are not embarrassed".
Needforspeed Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 At least some candor was in order. He could have said we didn't perform as we shoul dhave and let our fans/supporters down' date=' and not "we are not embarrassed".[/quote'] I am not supporting what he said, but the press should be handled by one of the seasoned campaigners not a rookie like Ashwin. I somehow like the way Dhoni handles the press. His anwers are so vague that it is almost impossible for the press to come up with any juicy headlines.

J P K Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 well what would Sehwag have said - " Yadav gave too many runs' date=' Ishant can't take wickets, Ashwin is lazy..its a 3 day match, we are having fun."[/quote'] i would not mind even if he had blamed our player in public last time he blamed our player even when were performing well but this time someone needs criticize them in public they have no shame
NeutralCat Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Not embarrassed? Then what are they proud of this disgraceful performances? Well not to worry I guess playing IPL and keeping themselves fit and fresh for the IPL is the way to go. Then they will make the excuse we play too much cricket, then we well win a few series at home and then go overseas, repeat and rinse. Looks like we are going to be 0 - 8 on the trot away from India what a ****ing disgraceful joke we have become. And these idiots along with the BCCI don't give a **** about this, all these corrupt dogs want is money in their back pockets.
