Time for us to go back to Indian coaches?

Given that the Fletcher "era" has backfired royally and the team is in disarray, has the time come for the BCCI to appoint home grown coaches for the Indian cricket team? When the team was in a similar crisis after first round exit in 2007 with the epitaph of Indian cricket being written, BCCI appointed Lalchand Rajput (from 2007 t20 WC onwards), Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh as the manager/coaches of the team with Ravi Shastri helping them on the tour of BD and then Chandu Border pitching in for the Eng tour. We were able to turn around the results, were able to get the team back on track and created a vision for the team which got us to number 1 and ended with a WC win. The situation is quite similar right now. Not sure if a foreign coach would be ale to feel the pasting image of Indian cricket is taking right now. Why not go back to our home boys in that case? I am sure the BCCI would be able to pick someone managing a Ranji team and give him a a team of bowling and fielding coaches, forming a unit that can take Indian cricket forward. Rajput himself, WV Raman (bengal and ex-TN coach), Pravin Amre (Mumbai and India A coach), Sanath Kumar (ex coach of Karnataka and currently with Baroda), Vikram Rathore (Punjab) etc are all professionally qualified coaches and have been managing domestic/IPL sides in some role or the other. For the bowling coach, we can look at the likes of Subroto Bannerjee, TA Sekhar or even Venkatesh Prasad. I am sure a young team led by a new captain with new set of younger and recently retired Indian coaches would help our cricket more than looking at world renowned coaches achieving nothing. Your thoughts please.

No sorry but I don't think Indian coaches are the way, what we need is to dismantle the BCCI and have an independent review, England, Australia have done it and are having great success. The BCCI is the cause of the problems and they will never allow a independent review, why would they? Their pockets are filled and they couldn't care less for anything else. They are the biggest reason why we are a laughing stock, and will never be respected, Indians need to grow up we can't continue this way forever.

Do they care about abroad matches.. Within six months everything will be fine... Things might change when we start losing badly, at home..
+1. Even the Aussies woke up when they lost the Ashes at home. India is going to face it very soon.

I highly doubt even that. A couple of months of the tamasha league and even that will be forgotten

Does anyone really believe Rajput played any serious role in our re emergence after the 2007 shambles? Blaming or praising coaches for success is not worth IMO.Its the players who goes onto the field to perform and its the captain who marshals the team. When we were winning all the prises went to Dhoni and players and deservedly so.So when we playing abjectly they are the ones who should be held responsible not coaches. We should ask Dhoni to step down as test captain and ask the Big 3 to retire. No point blaming the coach. The only reason Fletcher should be sacked is if the new captain and Dhoni (ODI captain) are uncomfortable with him.

Not really. Kirsten received a lot of praise from people as well.

Kirsten looked energetic ,alert and fit..under him most Indian players also did the same. Fletcher looks lethargic, lazy and fat ...the Indian players also have started looking like that. We need a coach who is more modern (with new ideas) younger and energetic.
