If Kumble and Chandra were not to bowl for SZ, Prasanna would be there so Ashwin would not make that team I dont think. Also Mandeep or even Kohli in place of Chopra?? Not sure about that, Chopra has achieved a lot more, though in time we hope Mandeep and Kohli do great things for us.... Prabhakar was not a great cricketer by any means and Ishant could take that spot yes.. Prabh offers the safety net of being able to bat a bit. Rajinder Goel was a left arm spinner, a very fine one who did not play any test cricket because of Bedi and Gavaskar rates him as one of the finest spinners he has faced. Only not consider him if playing on a seamer friendly wicket and Kapil, Manoj and Ishant can all play Ashish Zaidi is a good call though

Yeah just read about that. Once Bedi was out for disciplinary reasons and a selecor told him he was in. But later his name was not announced. That would suck so bad... :(( Unfortunate, what happened with Rajinder.

Yeah- Gavaskar wrote about him in his 'Idols' book. Him and another left armer, Padmakar Shivalkar who used to play for Mumbai. same problem. You wish these guys had been born 50 years later! VV Kumar too a leggie who only played two tests because of Chandra. Took 599 FC wickets in 129 matches at 20!! TN bowler who too be in contention for a fictional SZ side...

East Zone , Central and North Zone don't have much pace or bounce in their attack. That is not ideal for all time best teams. I would include. East -- Shami , Aaron along with Ranadeb. North -- Ishant , Nehra along with Kapil Central -- Pankaj, Umesh along with RP or PK.
