Positives out of Australia tour

This tour has proved us that IT IS TIME to move forward and Yes, we have got some positives out of this miserable tour. Let us take some time out of criticizing our teams performance and have a look at the positives. 1. Virat Kohli- Has finally arrived. I am very happy for him as he is a fighter and totally committed to his game(especially his father's death incident when he chose to play for his team rather than leaving the match in between). You got listen to the comments coming from Australia and England about him, how classy he is and his fighting attitude. He is top-class. 2. Umesh Yadav- Long way to go for him but he has it in him what it takes to play for a country. Important thing is, we all have very high hopes from him all of a sudden and forgets that he is just a rookie. He has pace, great stamina to bowl at same pace throughout the day, good out-swinger and excellent repeatable action. I remember a statement from Channel 9 commentary- India has found a gem in Umesh Yadav. There is no doubt about his pace. He has hit a guy(Michael Clarke) on his head who has just completed his century. 3. Wriddhiman Saha- Excellent keeper. Great concentration levels. He didn't miss a single ball in about 180 overs of India's fielding so far in this match. While batting as well, he showed how a test match innings has to be constructed. He may be playing in his first match but he is a well-cooked, ready to be served player. I am not talking about him replacing Dhoni as yet. 4. R Ashwin- The guy is a class act while batting or bowling. Although he has not done much with the ball on this tour but he will learn a lot from this experience and come good next time. And especially his batting has been quite refreshing that many people has starting calling him a genuine all-rounder who can even play at No.6 position for India in future. 5th one could have been Rohit Sharma or Ajinkye Rahane but thanks to VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag, they both didn't get a single game in this series. :finger: Meanwhile, above points shows that future is bright for India's test cricket and this is just a declining phase for our seniors and youngsters have enough passion for test cricket despite IPL( I LOVE IPL).

Yes, thats a good one and we, along with many players themselves were thinking- O that was just an one off bad series. Nothing to worry. We are still ATGs of Indian Cricket. Now we have come to the reality.

He cops it becuase of control, he bowls 4 good balls and one loose one... This is something that can be developed and he could be a pretty good bowler (alrounder) if given a go. Warne started very similarly (including against India) and he turned out ok... Kholi, despite his finger gesters and the like (which while pretty rude I think shows a bit of mongrel, fight and pride which is good - just needs to direct it a bit better - but he is young) is a really positive find for India... If there is not too much pressure on him early, he could be huge.. Don't give him the captaincy (I have read that a couple of times on other forums)

The only positive i can think of is... first time when India is playing i can purely concentrate on my office work.. rather than bothering of worrying about the scores... and mind u .. this year i got 2mths salary as bonus. Thanxs to the all mighty GOD and TEAM INDIA..

He cops it becuase of control, he bowls 4 good balls and one loose one... This is something that can be developed and he could be a pretty good bowler (alrounder) if given a go. Thanks to Michael Clarke. He showed some mercy towards us. 15 odd overs to be bowled today, then rest tonight then they could have finish up the Indian batting tomorrow.

I see some real positives for Yadav... He is young so he needs time and space to develop. I would say don't climb all over him for returns like day 1 of this test, that will happen to guys that are young. I remember a couple of games I went to (ODIs) at the MCG (I used to live in Melbourne before moving to Sydney a couple of years agao) and seeing G McGrath smacked at 8-9 an over for the 10... If the board and the supporters get on hime to hard to early he will fizzle under the pressure. Let him develop and give him support, you need the bad returns to bring the good, its part of the learning process IMO. Same goes for Ashwin and Kholi. Here are three really bright prospects for India and it goes to the theory of rotation I was talking about. The oldies are past it and the load of all the games is too much.. let them play 70-80% of games and have the remaining oldies develop the young guys like these three. If India had been doing that over the past 2 years, there would not be 3 prospects with a handful or 10 tests under their belt, there would be 6-7 (and the future is certain).. failure to do this and thats the BCCIs fault is where thing sit now, mass retirements due (overdue) and three future prospects and the likelihood of a long period of trying to build from a low base. You can't get on the new guys too much... Test cricket is tough, thats why it is so hard to get into (imagine if your english, you have to compete against the 60m odd poms and the how ever many saffers and irish etc there are for a spot). If it was easy to play, we would not be writting here, we would be in Adelaide right now
