Asia Cup 2012 Schedule : Discuss the squad for India

If we make the finals of the CB series and it goes to the 3rd final , it will be played on 8th March. And our first match in Asia Cup is on 13th March, so the team will have a grand total of 4 days to travel back to India or fly fly directly to SL and play a competitive series! Maybe BCCI thinks we wont need the 3rd final or maybe they don't consider the team good enough to make it to the finals. BCCI jokers should be ashamed of themselves for drawing out such a punishing schedule.

I think the thinktanks have decided to send a second string team with Gambhir/Kohli/Raina as captain. So they are not too bothered. That augurs well because the youngsta beauties will get their opportunities and may do better than this tired team. Also wickets in Bangladesh will bring them back to form as well. Time for me to hop over to Bangladesh and watch the Indo-Pak match :yay:

Understand yaar....BCCI was 1st forced to meet & approve this in 4 star hotel...since they failed to steal the Nimbus bank guarantee...hence a bit of money crunch. Plus their cowdung filled brain realized that the IPL franchise will need these players back with enough time so that those teams can be some sort of camp or things like that for their TEAM BONDING etc. Thus such a punishing schedule allowing enough time to be back for IPL Remember guys...BCCI prime motto is to make IPL & CL succeed. No matter the price. No wonder Indian cricket players dont care whether they lose or win for India these days.

Asia Cup Squad Starting 11. I for one am looking forward to this. Whether the snobs want to admit it or not the most exciting cricket we have seen last 12 months has been some great ODI matches in the world cup. With Pakistan improving along with Sri Lanka doing reasonably well in South Africa it looks to be a competitive tournament. I hope India send field their best 11 but right now honestly who is that? Gambhir, Sehwag Harbhajan Tendulkar? All awfully out of form. I presume this will still be the squad regardless of form: Sehwag Tendulkar Gambhir Kohli R Sharma Raina Dhoni Harbhajan R Sharma Kumar Z Khan I see Harbhajan coming back considering how awful Ashwin was in Australia. Rohit and Rahul making it on merit. On the opposite side i see the inclusion of Sehwag Tendulkar and Gambhir eventhough they dont deserve to make the team. However, say what you want these will be on subcontinent wickets and I expect them to get the job done in the batting. The match against Pakistan will be too much pressure to let someone like Rahane get another look after several mediocre performances. Hopefully the good guys will win again. Whos youre starting 11?

They really need to give the smaller nations a go in the ASIA cup so that cricket can expand world wide. Afganistan can turn out to be a decent team in a few more years. Then there is China, Malasia, etc. Maybe a round robin for the smaller nation and out of all of them only 2 can participate in the Asia cup with the 4 test playing nations. Seriously ICC or BCCI who ever organises the Asia Cup tournament should look to see outside the box instead of always staying in the comfort zone.
