Magneto Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 True but he also made the immediate assumption that I am another Sachin-is-God who is to be mocked. Tempers are volatile right now ... so fans and critics will shoot whoever that sits on the fence :winky:
Deleted_User_1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 ohhh yeah I know all about why you wouldnt touch that topic with a 10 foot pole. lol . which is scored against absolute trundlers and hence is of little value .... others not being able to score tells you how piss poor they were. go take a look at Hobbs technique and you will find why. BB has a point here. Looking at the footages, except for a few bowlers here and there most look amateurish. Same goes with batting technique. I do not know if the speed of the film makes it look worse that it is. :dontknow:

Deleted_User_1 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 http://www.britishpathe.com/video/jack-hobbs-the-world-famous-cricketer varld phamos kirkuter ka takneek pradarshan ... you can't possibly make this sh!t up even if you tried ... pure comedy gold :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Even Bradman's display of various shots look ordinary! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmUw9dDa1ys]Don Bradman - YouTube[/ame]
kirkutfan Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Yeah come back here when Hilphenhaaaus ' date=' Patto and Stark go on to be considered as bowlers who would be regarded as significantly better than Ambrose, Waz, Donald etc just as how Larwood and co have been owned by these ... okthxbai :hysterical:[/quote'] If Hillf, Patto and Stark are successfully taking on the better than Bradman, all timer, when they are not so well regarded.. then SRT is inadequate to handle the next generation's bowlers. He can't even handle the ordinary guys of the new generation. The case for Kohli being greater than SRT is stronger.

Lurker Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 The difference Dravid (or Ponting) and Tendulkar is the same difference between an ordinary genius and a magician. The curious thing is that normal fans seem to understand it while the hard-core stats-worshipping Tendulkar-bhakts don't. Well said Tapioca :hatsoff:
Ultimate_Game Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 ohhh yeah I know all about why you wouldnt touch that topic with a 10 foot pole. lol . which is scored against absolute trundlers and hence is of little value .... others not being able to score tells you how piss poor they were. go take a look at Hobbs technique and you will find why. Well how do you argue with a guy who thinks scoring runs against the likes of B'desh, Zim, NZ etc. is more difficult than averaging 99 in 30s, or that Kallis, Dravid, Ponting, Tendulkar, Lara etc. are better than Bradman :dontknow: Ditto for your gem regarding Hobbs and other s who played in an earlier era like Woodful, Ponsford etc. I am sure Hobbs' technique was so poor he was a walking wkt. You remind me of an old saying, "Never argue with a fool. He will bring you down to his level and then beat you with experience" :haha: That's why when you said you consider Kallis, Tendulkar, Ponting etc. better than Bradman I gave up. I am sure you consider an attack consisting of Zaheer, Praveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar better than Larwood, Voce, Bowes :giggle:
bunny Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 Why is this thread turning into SRT vs Bradman? I had posted the videos so that we could discuss the evolution of cricket technique, (and chucking ;) )

akshayxyz Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Why is this thread turning into SRT vs Bradman? I had posted the videos so that we could discuss the evolution of cricket technique, (and chucking ;) ) ever heard of "six degrees of separation".. similarly on ICF, it takes at maximum about as many context switches for any debate to turn into SRT vs Bradman.

zen Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 @ BB sure! keep trolling ..... enjoy the last phase of Sachin's career (addidas logo atm is only thing on his bat worth mentioning) before you would have to debate something like Kohli > SRT :hysterical:
