If Pakistan still had Aamir & Asif

IMO the reason Pakistan is playing well at the moment is the absence of offenders like Aamer & Asif and egotistical larger-than-the-game players like Inzi, Afridi etc. If Aamer and Asif had not been caught and had continued, Pakistan would still be producing controversies in dozens and not victories. The capture of some of the culprits, if not all, actually proved to be a turning point for the team.

i cannot understand that pakistan give this excuse..in asia cup 2010, amir had played and still india had emerged winner..then same should have been if zaheer khan would have been in england..

But we are the best team in the world right now. :winky: Other factors aside, Aamer was still unproven in ODIs and Asif was good only for Tests. So I doubt they would've made much difference in the ODI arena. Tests would've been a different story though

IF we leave aside the fact of the no-balls' date=' cuz other than the no-balls they were still winning Pak some matches. And on a purely talent and skill thing, hypothetically, if they weren't cheaters?[/quote'] What matches were they winning? Pakistan was near the bottom when both were present. there were having some great moments but just at the crucial points they would under-perform and Pakistan would lose the match. The T20 semis against Aussies and Asia cup against India are prime examples of where Amir's last overs caused Pakistan the game As for OP, I was just thinking today, if Indian had currently Bradman, Richards, Sobers, Hadlee, Wasim and Waqar playing for them, they would be world champions

Hypothetically speaking, they would be very strong and have a claim for being the best side in the world. Asif was a highly skilled bowler with a fantastic cricket brain while Amir was the best young bowler i have seen since i started watching cricket (around 1999).

Asif, Aamir, Ajmal and Abdur. Lots of A's. The four A's. Would have been nice to see but we never will. Would have been an amazing sight in test cricket. Shouldve, wouldve, couldve. Lets face it, we'll never know.

there would have been abundant availability of drugs flowing in the Pakistani team ;P all would have become charsi
Talk about lowering the tone of a cricketing thread. Its a real shame to find people like you on a forum with such great knowledge of cricket. I think you might be better off sticking to Star plus Dramas.
